I would keep an eye on t for that manual selling on Craigslist for like $10. The thief likely would want to cash that it even if only for a few dollars. I've seen ads for car manuals on there for a few bucks. Also file a police report and keep a watch out your local craigslist section you might get lucky and catch the bastard.
