Litespeed Racing exhaust. Price is right and sounds nasty even before test pipes. It's way lighter then any other exhaust and looks great also.

+1 for titanium , any drone with these?

I guess i'll do it, I recommend the Motordyne shockwave

The HKS, in contrast, uses Helmholtz resonators to remove all sound at the frequency that resonates in the 370Z cabin, for a drone-free experience. When you're idling along it sounds little louder than stock, but put your foot halfway or more into it and it wakes up with an aggressive growl that still is never annoyingly loud. It's what a sports car should sound like, IMO. It's more expensive but oh so worth it.

I have the F.I. setup with stock cats and the last thing that comes to mind is ricer loud. The car drones slightly when the engine gets put under load, like stepping on the gas in 6th at 60mph. Other than that, the car doesn't drone at all and sounds like sex.

FI sounds great, but drones horribly 2k-3k RPM. In 6th gear, it's only tolerable at 80MPH and above. Which is fine when the highway is open and you can go 80MPH. But 50-60MPH sounds horrible.

I disagree. I spend most of my time in 6th gear at around 65-75. The car sounds fine at this RPM. Once you dip under 60mph, then it starts to drone but I'm downshifting into 5th by that speed. I daily drive the car. I had a catless, turboback exhaust SRT-4 before this car, I know what drone is.

Not much drone, just pure evil sound. I have their intakes as well. The guys I spoke to were extremely helpful and awesome to deal with. I wish they had more parts for the z because I would rather deal with them then some of the other co. Out there that are just mass producing products for our cars.

The Motordyne M370 is an intake manifold. I drive a 15' Nismo now but I had the Motordyne M370, FI RHFC , Motordyne XYZ on my 12' G37 coupe and the M370 did make a slight difference in the sound. Prior to that I had several different combinations leading up to it and they were each a bit different.

I had a catless, turboback exhaust Mazdaspeed6. I know what drone is, too. I also daily my car. I will be getting rid of my FI exhaust soon.

:shakes head: must be an older Z owner.

i DD my Z and hated the car's sound until i got the FI exhaust.

it's the way to go and the drone isnt bad as you describe.

when not running the FI striaght pipes i run the full non-res TP/CBE with CF mufflers setup and theres some drone at the 2.5k-3k area as there is with pretty much any exhaust on the Z. its just a resonance point with the engine rpm and the exhaust.

Dirk McGurck 02-24-2016 09:55 AM

The only exhausts I've personally witnessed were stock (so meh), my FI (if it makes a difference I'm pretty sure it's V1, dunno if moving the mufflers makes a huge difference) and Berk (nice sound, not as deep as the FI, but zero drone ever).

My buddy with the Berk is selling his car so I'll most likely take his exhaust and try it with my test pipes.

And I'm 27.

the different versions were just a slight raise in them uffler location and didnt change the sound.

the age part was a joke based on if it's too loud you're too old.

Do you also run TPs or HFCs with the FI exhaust?

Dirk McGurck 02-24-2016 12:15 PM

Non-resonated test pipes. Drove the car for a year with stock cats. Drones on both setups, though the TPs lowered the drone RPM range a teeny bit.

If they moved them backwards along the piping to raise them, it could change the sound probably a negligible amount.
