@Tim Neil

Thanks for jumping in :tup::tup:

I have 2 questions:

1. Will there be various languages give (especially German)?
2. I have a PLX WiFi permanently installed (OBD)
with the DashCommand App on the Ipad!
Will there be a WLAN interface?

Thank you for the answer!

Greetings from Switzerland
Ivo

Yes, according to the website, but a camera isn't included.

The underlying Android OS can be configured for German. We plan to have our front end software support EFIGS (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish). At launch we will likely only have English, and then will provide the other languages as software updates.

Brainiac supports both Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. You can even plug in a USB cellular modem if you wish to have an always on cellular connection.

For OBDII data we actually have a "T" cable that goes behind your dashboard and connects to your OBDII cable so that we don't block your OBDII port. You can think of our cable as kind of a "piggy-back". You unplug your existing cable from the back of the dashboard, plug it into our "T" cable and then plug our "T" cable into where your original cable was connected to the dashboard.

That way we have a constant wired connection to vehicle data without having to fiddle around with wireless connectivity all of the time :)

Correct, we have an RCA composite video in for a reverse camera connection.

How will this integrate with the factory system if I have Nav? Obviously the Nav is better on your unit, but what about withe the Bose amp/speakers?

Integration with the Bose amp/speakers will be the same as other aftermarket head-units. I know that there were some write-ups on the 350Z forums on how to keep and/or bypass the Bose amp depending on your preference.

Is it possible to have MAP, AIT, oil pressure, fuel pressure, etc... gauges show up on the unit (providing the correct aftermarket sensors are installed)?

You can get air inlet temperature and fuel pressure from standard OBDII PIDs so we can display those.

We haven't yet created an analog input system where you could run gauge leads and then have us translate those into digital gauges.

We've been asked a fair bit about this kind of feature and are looking into it as a possible new accessory. We've also been talking to Autometer about the possibility of integrating with one of their analog to digital systems.

hc_416 01-20-2016 08:49 PM

We have the G37 on our list of potential vehicles next as well. We'll be publishing a photoshop of what the G37 could look like as well.

But it would require its own 3D laser scan and modeling to ensure an OEM factory like fit.

PS dunno if poll is broken but i just voted on 370z like 15 times refreshing the page.

njobe89 01-21-2016 12:46 PM

lol... they would be fools (no butt hurt intended) not to create it for the genesis and z... as the polls tell they are almost equal and it would just mean a lot more business for them. if they don't like money, then they will only create it for one car.

I think both cars will get it... the question is who will get it FIRST! I dunno about you, but my AV installation is on hold until I can get my hands on this =)

We'll be leaving the poll open for quite some time.. We're trying to better understand which communities have the most interest. Some of the communities that support vehicles on the list don't even know about us yet :)

We are planning on adding 6 more vehicles to our 10.1" snap-in kit line up this year. So we're trying to figure out which are the first 6 :)

Drakonis GTR 02-02-2016 05:08 PM

I voted. I would truly love to put this in my Z. It's killing me that it would be toward the end of this year before I would see it. But I will patiently wait.

Supmar85 02-03-2016 10:51 AM

Wtf is going on with this. Checked twitter and it looks like a Nexus 7 running a cheap custom ui. The mock ups are full on Tesla sized displays. Not to mention they seemed to have gone ahead with the prototype pace of a snail.... Voted anyways.
