Need help...close to purchasing!

So it has come down to basically two Z's.

Z1- 2015 Base Sport, new, pearl white, manual (of course), price of 29,500

Z2- 2014 Touring Sport, white pearl, manual, has backup camera in mirror, comes with brand new Concavo wheels/nitto tires, plus the factory sport wheels, ~13k miles, certified pre-owned, price of 28,500

Which one to choose? I'd like to have new with 0% interest, but I would love to have all the options of the other Z :icon14:

Nixin 12-19-2015 07:54 PM

With 0% interest, why don't you step into a brand new fully loaded Z?

1LIFE 12-19-2015 07:54 PM

I would buy the base sport, would much rather have the piece of mind of it being new. Also the sport wheels are better than Concavo, I wouldn't care about the back up camera, and I prefer the cloth base seats over leather. That's just my 2 pennies

littlejuanito 12-19-2015 08:17 PM

But the touring comes with SRM

Both cars that he's asked about have SRM.

Did you already find out you are on Santa's naughty list? This is the explanation with which I am going to explain your snarky and unhelpful comment.

FNR32 12-19-2015 10:21 PM

Tough choice. I like the options of the 14, but I like the newness of the 15. I'd probably go with the 15.

Brand new for 29,500? Below invoice I assume?

TerribleONE 12-19-2015 11:37 PM

I'd take the new one

Exhaust 12-19-2015 11:45 PM

The touring is for non sports car enthusiasts who want to look cool :stirthepot:

but you have a AT :wtf2:

jchammond 12-20-2015 02:56 AM

Both should have an LSD diff; some of the new base's they cut a few corner's (ck. that)
The Touring has Leather w/heated & possibly cooled seats (A +)and usually Premium sound (Bose)
Not enough $ difference to buy used though/// dealer will make more on 14', so you could get them to drop the price more on that one (if you like it better)
....Get the GTR instead!

axmea? 12-20-2015 03:04 AM

I don't understand why this is even a question.
Get the new one. It will not cost you to finance the car. Head units with back-up camera is cheap. Many other better wheels than Concavo. nuff zed.

kenchan 12-20-2015 01:35 PM

the hell is a concavo? :ugh:

My thoughts exactly. I would prefer the options obviously, but is it worth giving up the new factor & 0%:eekdance:

Yes, brand new..and yes, below invoice.

MagmaRed370z 12-20-2015 03:00 PM

Go with the brand new Z. Zero to finance and peace of mind. You can add stuff later.

The other is a certified pre-owned though too..so I would be a getting a decent warranty with that one as well. I'm thinking it would cost quite a bit more if I were to add on later? I could live without the Bose..but I think I would miss the heated leather seats.

jaedub 12-20-2015 03:52 PM

If you can afford a new one, why would you even think about getting it used? I'd get the new one in a heart beat. Plus, you'll get a better re-sale value for it.

Larso1 12-20-2015 04:19 PM

Drive 'em both....... then get the '14 Touring. You'll love the leather, the compliant suspension, the upscale (original equipment) HU, and the 2 sets of great looking wheels and tires. Plus, in a year or so they'll both have relatively the same mileage. But then, I'm biased

is this the convexo?

( Click to show/hide )

kenchan 12-20-2015 05:19 PM

i would just get the sport and add a nice doubledin HU afterwards... wheels and exhaust.

D.Stillwell 12-20-2015 06:30 PM

No brainer. Get the new one.

I had the same option as you back in August. Except both my options were new.

I couldn't justify spending 3-5k more to add touring to my sport. Bose and leather side bolsters on the seats, plus bunch of extra weight. No thanks. The sports seats are 100% same as touring minus leatherette side bolsters, middle is the same. Sport seats felt way more stable, the leather sides make you slide exactly where it should hold.

100% Enthusiast choice = base sport 6mt.

Touring sport = just go buy the g37 if you want touring luxuries.

Z-Girl 12 12-20-2015 06:48 PM

Get the new one no-brainer. 0%

DavidZ370 12-21-2015 03:25 AM

Certified Pre owned doesn't mean **** i hope you know, its just a fancy word for USED. liked TARGET AND TARJET

mishuko 12-21-2015 07:30 AM

certified preowned = lets charge you 1-2k more than the normal asking value because we put 100000 man hours in making sure she's just like new.

dumdumdum

go with the new

They just certify that someone drove it before you :ugh2:

It doesn't come with anything you aren't already paying for, trust me. Whatever warranty it comes with is not worth the chance that the previous owner beat the $hit out of the car for a year before trading it in :twocents:

evil370z 12-21-2015 08:22 AM

I bought my 2014 pearl white touring sport 6 speed fully loaded 0 mileage , 1% interest thru Nissan, 37k out the door flat. Forget the base, has basically no value what so ever. Get the fully loaded on, backup cameras leather seats, hested seats, spoiler, sport wheele, sport brakes. 13k miles is NOTHING, still new. My 2014 just hit 13k miles today.

D.Stillwell 12-21-2015 08:30 AM

^^ lol for that price, one can get a Nismo. Whether one wants a Nismo, is a different story.

And, the touring package over the base sport only adds the letherette bolstered heated seats, cameras and thats it. The new base sport comes with Bose now, even less reason to buy a touring package.

But I like telling people how to spend tens of thousands of dollars of their own money.

The biggest reason to get a base is because you plan on doing lots of mods where you would removed many of the upgrades. Changing the wheels, LSD, gearing, and seats would eliminate most of the reasons to get an upgraded version.

I would only get a used car under 2 circumstances.
1. I personally know it's history, for example it was my neighbors and I saw it every day and it was well taken care of.
2. I have the ability to fix the car myself cheaply and easily because I have worked on many like it in the past and am familiar with it's problems and quirks.

I did not know that. That's pretty cool. :driving:

wtf does "certified pre-owned" mean anyway?

barebone maintenance done by the dealer? car is used. you're buying the original owner's problem. just get the new one.

No idea..I'm not sure if there are any maintenance records right now. I do know that the car is a lease from TN. CarFax is clean..AutoCheck reports one accident in FL. Says (front left corner). It doesn't say if it was severe or minor.

Me either until I started researching the new models some more...I think it just started for the 2016 models.

warfdog 12-21-2015 01:10 PM

I bought a 2016 Sport 6MT in July in San Francisco for 29,500. Thats 2016.!!

The fabric seats are great, and it does have Limited Slip Diff, better Brakes, SRM and BOSE as do all Sport models.

If you like the integrated NAV and heated leather seats consider a new touring, but contrary to other owners I LOVE the BOSE system in my Sport model and am very happy with that choice. The phone integration and the sound quality are excellent.

If leather or heated seats are an issue they can be added easily at a later time. Welcome | Car Leather Upholstery | Custom Auto Leather Interiors by Katzkin

Buying new gives you better financing as well as knowledge that you are starting with a fresh model with brand new warranty. I don't think your price on the CPO car is very compelling.

Assume this late in the year you should only be looking at a 2016 model year (new) at that price. I would pass on a 2015 at this point.

Thats correct, this is new for 2016 models.

Btw, that used Z has an accident on it, and they want the same price as the new Z....

I'd laugh at that dealer in the face and get the new one. I mean, unless you're retarded, really.

I digress lol...
