My right hip is killing me

I'm 60 and, so far, no problemo. You may consider seeing an M.D., 'cause it could be osteoporosis, painful hip joint(s), arthritis, etc. Some maladies manifest themselves earlier than they usually do, in some persons. Good luck, dude!

Ok to be clear, it is not the switches themselves, but there is a frame around the switches. The problem area is the left rear corner of that frame. If you take your fingers and press into the cushion at that point, you can feel the corner through the padding. It's not exactly at my hip, but in my upper thigh region. and that's exactly where the pain is.

As I said, it very well may be a coincedence and the pain may have nothing to do with it at all. That was the reason for this post, to see if others were experiencing it. It seems like I am alone, so the pain is most likely unrelated. It's tough to get old.

I read a study on back/hip pain, and 2 of the leading factors, believe it or not, was the size and positioning of your wallet.

A large wallet is a HUGE contributor to back/hip pain.

Also, switching from your back left and back right pocket can help, as keeping it in one pocket for years and years can misalign some stuff and contribute to the back/hip pain.

Pretty amazing article. When I drive more than 30 minutes, I take my wallet out of my back pocket.

I am 6'3" and 240 pounds and I also have seat issues. The sides of my seats dig into the sides of my big ***. at least i think that is my problem. there isn't very much cushion on the sides of the seat. you can push down on the cushion and fells like i can feel the outside of the frame of the seat. I can't keep my wallet in my pocket because that makes it even worse. I have a bath towel laying on the bottom of the seat that i sit on to raise myself up just a little bit and that helps, but it is a pain to deal with. I guess I need to go on a diet.

I pretty much stopped keeping my wallet in my pocket entirely because it just doesn't feel right in the 370Z seats. Guess the car will help me out in the long run with back troubles.

what is this... Z-Harmony? lol it might be the wallet or just that you lean on the centerconsol when you drive and the seat isnt designed for you to have a T.I. Shoulderlean

*edit.. not lean on it but put ur elbow down on it..

In my old neighborhood we referred to that as the "GM slump".

Anyway, no wallet (It's in the glove compartment), and no lean. At this point I am pretty convinced it has more to do with my being 49 years old than anything else.

Billy, have you tried experimenting a little with the way you sit? Do you sit neutrally or do you lean to one side like I see some people do? FWIW, I usually carry a 1911-style .45 on my right hip, at least one spare magazine on my left (sometimes two spares), and an automatic knife with a 5-inch blade in my left back pocket, and still have no problem sitting comfortably in these seats. But I mention this because I do have to adjust the way I sit slightly when I'm carrying. This has led me to the observation that just some minor adjustment in the way one sits can make a big difference in comfort. Just sitting back in the seat more (i.e., sit up straighter) can alter the pressure points, as can sitting forward a little (i.e., slouch a little). Just a thought.
