Your his friend with benefits.

^^^^ Yup i was in a hurry. Only tigger can do what you just did. His the grammer police. Pun intended somewhere.

Back on topic. I can't imagine any lawyer taking this on or if there is a need for one. This is between you and your friend unless your friend can manage to get his insurance company to pay for the wheels. Good luck.

Wut I would advise is don't kick him while he's down. Let him recover and politely have a conversation with him. Maybe you can work out some form of payment arrangements. But being nice and polite will get you much farther than trying to muscle him into paying. I'm sure he is aware of the wheel situation and if he is any sort of friend he will try his hardest to make things right

Forum members provided good advice....a few items I'm curious about:

Is he a friend or not?

What was he driving?

Details of the crash - storytime maybe?

Pics?

All in all I hope your friend recovers well. Stuff is stuff, it can be replaced...your health sometimes can't. Good Luck.

Do his laundry, Pick up his dry cleaning. Walk his dog. Clean his kitchen and bathrooms. Mow his lawn. Take his kids to school for him. Make a sizeable donation to a worthy charity in his name.

These are the things you should do.

He may be thinking of suing you anyway for your faulty wheels that caused his accident.

Count your blessings.

Pay it forward.

Bend over. Take your butt plug out. Grap your ankles. You're hosed on your wheels. Once your friend gets out of the hospital. Put him back in with a swift hit to the knees with a baseball bat. While you are at it. Hit yourself a few times too for letting him use your wheels.

This sounds about right.

We live in a litigation crazy nation. Much stronger case than "hot coffee" IMO.

Probably not much legal recourse you can really take.

Just hope that he does the right thing and pay you for the rims that he borrowed if they are indeed destroyed.

Birdfan67 10-31-2015 01:22 PM

Chalk it up as a learning experience... you loaned him the rims so you rolled the dice.
He's a friend...be glad he's alive ! I'd wait a few days to allow the dust to settle...then oh' by the way him. If he offers you compensation from the insurance...take it and smile...don't get into what you could have sold them for...thats meaningless to him. If you feel inclined ask for $500.00 bucks and call it a day. Be reasonable...they were used...they may even be ok, who knows.
