When I'm driving on the freeway, I can keep up with all the other cars.

Really??? 370Z vs. Boxster 4 cylinder

What do you think (know) would happen in a real test vs the Porsche??:eekdance:

the goal was to be a viable option compared to the entry level porches. i think we can all agree the 911 would blow the z out of the water. do a lap around its mom. then go after its children and throw them for a loop.

then eat the dog. :tiphat:

When I want to drive a vehicle fast off the line I drive my Grand Cherokee. When I want to go out corner carving, I drive my Grand Cherokee. Oh yeah, I have a Z too. Shoot. Forgot about it in the garage.

Boxster in all trims is a 6 cylinder engine until at least next year. That's why they compare it. And against a Boxster S/GTS the Z may and probably will lose.

0-60 times are only important for muscle cars. I don't even know what it is for a Z. Don't care. I want a sports car that has neutral handling through the corners. I would much rather have a slow Miata than a fast in a straight line Mustang. If you are concerned about drag racing, shopping for a Z is looking in the wrong place.

:iagree: You want the Z's true competitors (RWD, front engine, 2 seaters, with similar power plants) you get Audi TT, BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster/Cayman.

Don't forget the F-Type Jaguar!

Another car with similar performance for twice the $$$.

Buying it is one thing, actually racing it on a track like it's meant to be is another....and I'm willing to bet that most people that buy that type of car will rarely ever see track time unless they're betting on a horse

two words for anyone that thinks the Z is slow: forced induction.

why not have the best of both worlds?

Who put the Audi TT in this comparo????

It comes in FWD or half-assed AWD. Makes what... 300 tops?

Because of the DSG, though, the TTS will beat the 370Z at a dragstrip--and possibly around a road course, too.

But lack of a manual transmission means I still wouldn't buy one.

This is true, my 2004 VW R32 was pretty much a TTS.

I'm still having trouble beating some of the VW's lap time with the 370z, and the VW had 240 horse?!

but u're in chicago... wat 'corners' you speak of? :rofl2: in ur town, 300hp is a minimum requirement if you want to have fun. :D

In my humble opinion, the Z was never about 0-60 times. It was about a fun car to drive that looks amazing and has decent HP. The cars that I looked at and test drove before buying mine were the Subaru BRZ(underpowered but cheaper), Corvette stingray(more power, more expensive), so I ended up in the middle ground with a fun rear wheel drive car that gets looks and is fun to drive, and according to my wife "Erry Body and there mama gotta mustang".

I've beaten a tts in my Z
