Troll, as defined by Urban Dictionary:

A person who posts to a forum or other form of online communication to disrupt or cause widespread argument.
I guess you're new to the internet. It's OK.

Earlier this week I got a call from a local dealer about a Z exactly like i was looking for, but used with 2k miles. I decided to check it out and guess what? It has the ecu problem. I didn't notice it at first since it's non-existant to quiet when the car is first turned on, but after about 2 minutes it's noticable. It actually bothered my ears and after the test drive my ears had the feeling you get after being exposed to loud noises. I thought some of the people on the board were exagerating, but I now I understand what they were talking about.

Neither salesperson I was with could hear it and I'm actually surprised I could since my younger days were filled with with excessive loud noises.

I would've bought the car if I knew that a fix was coming out, but we don't know that. We just know Nissan is aware of the issue and is working on it.

I forgot to add that I sat in another Z on the lot and it didn't make the noise. The only difference between the two was the nav system.

So did anybody else hear about this TSB? I have the exact same high pitched noise problem, but last time I visited my dealer, they didn't know about any TSB yet. The tech did hear and confirm the noise though. It is starting to drive me nuts. It's exactly as described before, turn my head to the left and I hear it.

CBRich 11-05-2009 06:22 AM

I hope you don't choose a different car simply because of a high pitched whine.

Solution: add CBE to your HFCs. Louder exhaust = less high pitched noise noticed. :)

But then there's the "hissing" problem - if it's not one thing it's another...

KillerBee370 11-05-2009 10:03 AM

High frequency noise? I wouldn't hear that shizzle over my exhaust anyway. :icon17:

:icon18: True, I hear it less now that I have the HFC's, but it's still there. And I think that HFC+CBE= too loud for me...

True as well, but at least the hiss is not constantly there.

I didnt hear the noise at first when i bought my car but now the noise is very noticeable. it is starting to become unbareable. if i drive without the radio on i can still hear it. I'm going to the dealership today to check out a lot of things and ill tell you guys what they say about the problem.

I take it we are still waiting for the bulletin to be verified? What happened to the OP? :icon14:

It is now been 17 days waiting for the bulletin to arrive in the states? This long awaited time period has given me some time to recall a recent article I read.
I read some where that the Japanese have been experimenting with carrier pigeons to communicate through out there country and have had excellent results. If I'am correct I believe the article stated that Japan was going to try there new ester eating carrier pigeons on trans atlantic flights this month. With that recent recolection I believe this may be the reason for the long awaited bulletin we were told was due anyday now!
So I'am feeling so much better now. With the long delay I was beginning to believe it was a bogus post?
Hope I have set some of you at ease in your long wait.Keep an eye above the horizon for the soon to arrive messengers from the far east!

The problem is, the Ester diet proved bogus and the pigeons fell from the sky somewhere around Howell Island. The Amelia Earhart search party has been diverted in an attempt to secure the classified info.. Stay tuned!

I haven't slept well in the last 17 days and now this tragic anouncemant! Perhaps the original poster has some inside info on this tragic set back? After all he was the first to know of such a bulletin so surely he must have an inside contact!
Again we are left in suspense for who knows how long this time?
Wait? Is it possible one or more of the ester messengers survived the premium diet and completed the journey?
I refuse to give up hope of seeing at least one of these super birds possibly at my local dealer.Could it be possible?
Will Japan make history yet with this new break through of trans atlantic flight?
The suspense is driving me mad! Mad I tell you! What will I do now?

There was actually one who made it through....Unfortunately he was nabbed by the California Sky High Infiltration Team (S.H.I.T.) and assumed to be a terrorist. Overflying CA without a valid TSB is apparently a crime. He is now in Guantanimo awaiting extradition back to Japan...I'm afraid the OP's plot has been foiled....

Blown32 11-14-2009 02:53 PM

I just new that one of them made the journey. Now I feel so much better!
We will never see our bulletin.
Perhaps wonderboy will come to our rescue and save the day.Surely he has an inside contact and will inform us of the present status of his claimed bulletin.
My my!How long now until we here from the secret source? It has been a while now since his claim to fame.Maybe his buzzing ECU has driven him mad!
I surely hope so..or hope not..what am I saying...now I'am confused! The buzzing has made me overwhelmed with madness!

no tsb came out for the G like the OP said, but it happened many times that the dealer has info on tsb before it hits the net... should be like that anyways.....

The OP vanished without a trace and it's been 3 weeks since the original post. There is a thing called the "internet" and 3 weeks is a lifetime in the info age. I call BS! Sorry, got up grumpy this morning. :shakes head:

nogoodname 11-15-2009 10:02 AM

ask Fusz if he has any info on this, he's on the inside... lol

farmosh203 11-15-2009 11:34 AM

I noticed the same high frequency sound also. It reminded me of the unstable switching mode power supplies I designed at work (can almost play songs by varying the load current hehe). If it was coming from the ECU, I would suspect that the feedback network on a power supply needs some more capacitance to fix the phase margin.

I would not be posting the outcome of your own product on the web. People may not hire yah! :).

Joking with you man!

antennahead 11-15-2009 03:16 PM

I believe the OP stated, a little while back, that the replacement ECU was due in to his dealer around the 13th, that was this past Friday. If we get no update by the middle of this week then something is awry :shakes head:

Luckily they didn't work in the prototype phase, I fixed them up for the refined phase of the design :)
