that would be my dads blue Z in clear lake area he loves that car. we are finding out that nissan seems to be having problems with there paint. for instance the car got rained on and the next day he washed it there were water spots all over the hood and roof that will not come off and we are car guys so its not like we dont know how to clean them. we have tried everything to get them out but its not working. he is so pissed at nissan because the g37 i have has some of the best paint i have ever seen on a factory car.

Nissan's paint on the 350z and G35c was very crappy, they are very thin and strip easily...most people actually had to sand down their bumpers and then repaint and BAKE the bumper to get the better paint...I remember my G35c, small rocks and gravels that were kicked up easily stripped the bumper, and when I washed my car with a pressure wash, it actually stripped a huge chunk of paint off my bumper...

but as far as water spots, that would mainly be due to the clear coat and wax....I claybarred mine and gave it zymol wax, and water would just bead up into larger and larger beads and they just fall off...when you claybar, if you think it's SO SMOOTH and think you've done a good job, here's the real test: grab a very thin piece of plastic (best thing to use is the plastic wrap from a pack of cigarette), place your fingers inside the plastic bag, and rub your fingers (through the plastic) on the surface you have just clayed, if it smoooth as hell, then you did a great job, if you can still feel the grains or micro bumps, then you didn't really do it that well...

Sorry to hear about the paint issue fast, but the car was still lookin sexy. Glad to see so many z owners in Houston, esp in the Clear Lake/League City area. Any of you guys ever stop by the car meet on Saturdays at Target in League City? I used to go when I lived at the Palms down the street.

ahhh that sucks about the paint but yes the 370z's paint does suck across the board, i saw a black 370 at UCHL and even left them a note to come on to the side...

I've seen a black one, white one, 2 other brilliant silvers besides mine, a MB one, CY one, a SR with Univ of Houston plates, but yet to see a PG one.

There is a silver sport one with a Nismo spoiler near the Galleria area. Who are you??? Show yourself! I am envious of the spoiler. You mock me so...

I can't remember what the actual plate said. I just remember seeing the small UH emblem on the plate, as it zoomed right past me. It was near the Galleria, on Richmond and making a turn onto Chimney Rock. BTW, go Coogs!!

we have used the clay bar and wax already and have also tried scratch-x and the spots are still there. we also tried the 50/50 water and vinegar mix and that didn't work at all.
