Subaru WRX fan reports on Z.

This is the same story, with every manufacturer. I used to have a WRX in the past, I've had Hondas, and even a lifted Jeep on big tires. Everyone complains

Everyone complains about their manufacturer. No one builds what the 'fans' want. Get over it

If you love the current Z so much, get a '15 or '16 with low miles at some point. They are never going to turn the Z into a 450hp twin turbo anything, its highly unlikely.

At some point in the future I'd replace my Z with perhaps a newer 5.0 Mustang, used GTR, C7 corvette, etc etc, theres a big list. Part of being an enthusiast, there's always many options out there with pro's and cons.

We don't really gotta get over shyt, homes. It was Infiniti that started the 400hp rumor and it trickled into the Z. At one point, the engines themselves were confirmed. Nissan claimed it would be Mercedes design but built in house. This was in fall of last year. That info was steady info for 8 months till the back to basics rumor resurfaced.

If half of you/y'all don't care? Ignore the thread. Some of us are really looking forward to a class competitive Z. Some of us wanted the turbos so we can cut mod costs in half, since the car itself already is a fairly large purchase for some... Some of us love the car to a fault. And yeah, some of us get mad at shytty flip floppy news...

I think the Z is already competitive but if Nissan throw some TT from factory it would be a lot more just my 2cents!

But future wise, cars are really bumping performance up and the Z is gonna need it little bag of tricks to stay competitive. F.I. would be trick one. If BMW can make the 228 class competitive? So can Nissan.

The 228 accelerates to 60 in the low 5', is modifiable and completely enthusiast friendly at 40k. Completely class competitive. If you're into modding? The 228 is a great platform. And we don't need all that luxury the BMW has in the Z So it's doable to create a hardcore sports car for reasonable cash.

Depends on what you're comparing it to. If you're looking at cars around the $30-40k range I don't think it's all that competitive. The Mustang and Camaro definitely out class the Z in terms of performance. When the 370Z was first released, it was competitive with those 2 cars. Both Ford and GM have updated them since then and left the Nissan behind because it failed to do the same.

This is the reason why I didn't even consider a Z for my next car purchase. If they had released one or confirmed any details that revealed it could be competitive with those cars soon I may have considered getting another one. I had decided on getting a 2016 5.0 earlier this year and then I started looking at used C7's. As soon as I test drove one, my mind was pretty much made up. Just placed an order for a 2016 C7 like 2 weeks ago and should be getting it delivered around late August.

I'd love to take a test drive in a C7, but considering I couldn't even get the asshat salesman to let me drive a USED C6, it's pointless.

And now the Gen 6 Camaro has SRM and the LT1. Weight is down as well. If it handles well, could be a valid replacement although, it is still 3700 lbs.

Ima stikin wit da Z. I like it ... looks good and goes good. I smile every time I get in.

I called 8 dealerships b4 getting a test drive appt without getting my credit run for a loan. It takes time but it's worth it

If you showed up in something other than ripped up shorts, holey t-shirt and flip-flops you might get a different answer ...

The test drive is easy. It's making a dealer understand, "no credit checks till ready to purchase" is the hard part. Like me... I'm back in test drive mode... If every effin schmuck in a dealership ran my credit for every car I want to test drive. I'd lose 40 points on my score. Don't need that right now.

HEY!!!! Were you at the dealer when I showed up?

I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, but that's my normal attire. They did let some 70 yr old dude drive it, and he managed to kill it 6 times backing out of the space.
