After researching nissan z cars , is it me or there seems to be alot of three four owner cars . Is the the norm? or seems unusual ? Im wondering if owners get tired of their z cars fast . A bunch i was following first owners bailed in under 5 k miles whats with that . ? Makes you wonder at best . Any thoughts from readers, owners etc ? im still looking for the right one for me.

I'm wondering what your criteria is for searching. I'm imagining cheaper prices, more owners. Bailing under 5k miles could be an impulse buy or they jumped ship for something else. I know someone who bailed after having it for 1 year for the mustang 5.0. As an owner, I thoroughly enjoy the car and will most likely be keeping it for a long time considering the only thing I could consider worth the money\upgrade would be a porsche.

I'm with you on that.

I think a lot of people trade it in after their first winter with the car, or the fact it isn't everyone's cup of tea. if i'm asked about my z I say "the ride is rough, it has huge blind spots, no cargo room, it's hard to get in and out, and totally sucks in the winter. I wouldn't trade it for anything."

The car isn't that bad with a dedicated set of winter tires/rims. I went through the entire winter without losing traction at all. Ground clearance becomes the biggest problem as the sport chin spoiler becomes a plow after 5" of snow.

Me too. I put some Blizzaks and it did excellent in Colorado Winter.

It's even better if you buy a P.O.S. Jeep Cherokee for less than $2k and add a lift kit. Driving a Z in winter is retarded IMO.

Are you talking about 370 or 240 or even the 300?

In my Altima the GM of the dealership was the first owner of my car. He drove it for under 10k. So that could be a possibility.

Leases, purchased when income was good and then things changed, repo'd, "want Ammurrican V8 muscle instead", found self needing a back seat, etc.

As to whether you find this more for Z's relative to any other car (or at least any other "specialty" car), I have no clue.

On that note: I know of a beautiful MX-5 with low miles that has had like four owners in three years... a two-seater sports car ain't for everyone.

I just think a lot of people either buy them as weekend toys for a while and then sell them for something else or end up coming to a point in their life where a 2 seat sports car is just not practical for them.

I don't think it's any indication of something wrong with the car.
