Such a same to see these things just get wasted and trashed....to everyone else...treat your Z well!!!!

Well, that recommendation can be given to any niche-market vehicle.

Usually parents lol. There are some kids that have the self control but usually not lol. Bought mine when I was 18 and babied it ever since. Why would I want to ruin it and/or die? :ugh2:

Thread should have been titled, "Don't Raise Your Teenager to be a Dipstick" imo.

I gave each of my sons a Z when they were old enough to drive. Note: this was several years ago and the Zs were both 280ZX's from my stable (manual trans, of course). They took decent care of them, rebuilt engines, did suspension mods, etc. One of the Z's survives today and the other met an untimely end during a hydroplaning event.

That is a bit different than giving a kid a new 40-45k car who doesn't even know to change the oil after 12k miles. Then buying him a brand new nismo after blowing the motor on the 13'

My dad bought me my 370Z when I was 15. I change the oil myself and do other basic maintenance. Five years later now and its in great shape. I've met people old and young that don't care for their things. Buying a responsible teenager a Z is no issue!

Give it 3 years, the 370z will turn into what we all hate about the 350 community.
