2. Steering lock failures. 2009 models

3. Oil temp going limp mode when driven hard on track- need oil cooler

Steering lock also happened on my 2011

OP - what is your budget? I have THOROUGHLY researched the market before I bought mine. Sometimes, I would put no distance for limits just to see what was out there.

Are you willing to drive to get your car? I drove 4 hours to pick mine up.

Oh, one other small problem, you will be spending more on gas than your current toaster.

1 more thing

my oil doesnt seem to run as hot as it did in the 2009. I know nissan installed some sort of "oil cooler" for 2012 and up. seems to work ok. 1 track day in the winter and it ran fine. no oil cooler.

And no i didnt drive it like a grandma on the track lol

There's nothing wrong with the manuals but you just have to know that you will be replacing the CSC at some point. There are a couple of great aftermarket options that are rock solid.
July 2011 and forward production runs of 370Z did not have the steering lock

For the sake of clarity I just said 2012. I actually have a 2011 without one, just never knew when the change was made.

The Z shouldn't give you any major problems. I firmly believe it is a very reliable sports car overall. Engine is rock solid and there's no issue with transmission. CSC will eventually fail if you push the Z a lot (applies to only manual). AT is a solid daily.
