Chances are if you're lowered to the point where you can't make it over a moderate speed bump, your car probably handles like crap and looks stupid anyway... Just one man's opinion.

If you have to drive the Z slow, then you bought the wrong car. Buy a corrola and slam it. People know to go slow behind you anyways.

No issues with this for me. The only issue I have is BMW drivers brake checking me in the fast lane that are 20 yards in front of me. Then, continuing to do so until they are 5 feet in front of the nose of my car. Some people deserve to be punched in the mouth. Lucky for me the trucker on the right noticed and slowed down allowing me to slide in front and fast away.

Not lowered but sure does feel like it at times. When pulling into or out of a parking lot, or anywhere for that matter in any vehicle I always consider watching my speed, chances of some random person pulling out in front of me or a child running around in the parking lot is not worth the headache and or damage. People should have more consideration for safety than anything else in that regard. Just my 2 cents which doesn't add up to much.

It'll definitely have to take a little understanding from both parties.

I used to put my hazards on and apologize as I took my time over a speed mountain. I have been honked and cussed at on numerous occasions regardless though.

mind over matter, if you don't mind your car and what not, it don't matter.

I have to agree with this to a large extent. If your car is too low to be practical as a DD and that's how you're using it, then maybe you're being a little disrespectful to the other drivers around you. My car is stock height with no chance off going lower while it's my DD. Too painful and inconvenient.

That being said, even at stock height I encounter plenty of driveways that require a 45 degree approach at near idle speed just to avoid scraping horribly. But I can't say I've ever had someone honk at me for it. OP is in NY, and from everything I've experienced getting honked at is a regular occurrence for driving there :ugh: :icon17:

I live on long island, the world of spoiled brats, so getting cursed at for going 70 in a 55 is commonplace... My Z is not my daily driver, It really has little to do with me, as people here would rather honk, and try and bump me out of the way, than go into another lane of traffic thats clear to just pass me. I used to live up north, this was never a problem...people even moved out of the left lane to let you pass without any problem!

Here's my take. I always signal well in advance because sometimes I do run into these situations. I do make every attempt not to slow traffic and/or plan my route accordingly. When the driver behind me isn't practicing proper following distance, especially if I'm in the right lane going over the speed limit, then I'm less inclined to care if I have to slow down for road imperfections. If I get honked at, I generally smile and wave and go about my day.

At least there is a Seahawks decal on the car!
The car behind looks like he just wasn't paying attention in front of him/her.

kenchan 04-19-2015 10:49 AM

wat pissed me off are old folks driving 15mph under the limit and turn in/out of parking lots real slow with no sense of timing to traffic.. :ugh2:

Try using your blinkers to make them think you're in trouble and will be more forgiving. Works for me.

U remind me of the hellaflush lowrider i saw on FDR few month back, not only that he was driving slow it looked like a tub boat in a hurricane storm on those pot holes.

P.S. dont ever ever take the FDR even if ur in a hummer.

Ahhhh so rare on here I read people mentioning home, FDR... Crooklyn. Awesome!!! Almost everyone that posts is either west of the hudson or south of Jersey...

So it took me a while to read everything and catch up. Here is essentially the bottom line: Intent. If you purposely slow down to the point where you're stopping others and your MINDSET is "f8ck 'em", then you're a d!ck. This isn't about the inequities of life, but if we're going to go there; IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO. If you're stuck behind someone who's turning really slowing across and intersection when the rest of traffic has left them behind; or someone who's texting instead of noticing the light has turned green; or anything where you're being inconvenienced; you are responsible for YOUR behavior. Courtesy starts with you, not the other way around. If everyone was waiting for everyone else to be courteous, this would be an awful place to live, indeed. You don't need to believe in karma, or god, or any sort of supernatural power to do the whole "they'll get what they deserve" nonsense. Just drive like a civilized human being for the sake of it.

If you DO need to do something where it's inconveniencing others, you should go out of your way to inconvenience as few people as possible. That means pulling to the far right if you're going to be entering a steep driveway so others can pass while you take your time. For example, when I back into my driveway it takes ages; but I wait for traffic to clear on my street before I do so. Even IF someone is being a **** and high-beeming you on the expressway, just let them through. Honestly, America is probably the only country I've lived in where the left lane (or right, depending on country) is the defacto passing lane. People will go nuts getting you to move over and make all sorts of obscene gestures. Same thing with escalators. Americans love to take up both lanes of the escalator. Every other country I've been to people stand off to one side so people in a hurry can get past. I digress, the point I'm trying to make is that sometimes you can't help it. And that's ok. The main point is, once again, intent.

As for school busses, old folks, etc. They're a necessary evil. Until obama care rolls out it's real plan to kill all the old people, I think we're stuck with them. In fact, we're going to have more of them than we ever have in the past if statistics are to be believed. School busses and LEOs go back to courtesy. You probably don't want to hit a child crossing the road, it's why those rules are there. You also don't want to hit a LEO as he's rushing to a scene of a crime or needs his donut fix. Because goddamnit he has the 'betis and the donuts help him regulate his thyroid or some such nonsense.

If you were offended by my original post. You likely fit the description of a self entitled sh!t, so I'm not really sorry for you and don't apologize for any of it. May your muffler hang low and drag where you go and your socks always fall to your ankles (seriously, as far as low stakes curses go, that one would be pretty annoying). Generally, people react to things that describe them - it's why you turn around when your name is called. If your name is sheep-****-noodle-fucker who drives a zed and holds up traffic, you can take it up with your parents.

TL;DR - "f8ck 'em"
