This "ME ME ME" mentality is not a new thing. The total lack of shame for people (above the age of 6) who hold this mentality is a growing trend.

As I said before, if I find that the way I CHOSE to modify my car is constantly holding up traffic, then I would consider changing my setup.

My car is lowered, but that's not other people's problem or responsibility. It's not like everyone on the road showed up at my house one day, drew guns on me, and demanded that I modify my car.

My car is on stock height and sometimes it will scrape if you don't take your time pulling into parking lots and such. I didn't choose to modify the car, it's just pretty low from the factory. I have no intention of lowering it as it's my DD and I think it looks fine as is, but if someone is throwing a hissy fit over me taking 5 extra seconds to pull into a lot, they can kiss my ***.

I understand going slow over some driveways or uneven road surfaces; I'm on stock height and I still have to be careful in some areas. But if you're constantly having people flip you the bird and cuss you out over it, either New Yorkers really are a load of people with their panties in a bunch, or you are seriously being an obnoxious driver. Keep in mind that others will see a very lowered car with an exhaust as a "ricer", which is annoying to them to start off with. Then this "ricer" is delaying their commute... If the roads there really are that shitty, maybe being lowered isn't the most practical setup.

One upon a time I had this sweet as ride with a totally hellaflush setup.

But when ever I was cruizing on the highway people were always flashing their lights, honking and flipping me off. Driving any faster then the speed limit on the highway or I might spin out. Can these fools understand I am saving them by going slow.

Anytime someone comes here, claims they are not and idiot in the first two sentences of their post, proceeds to explain how he is a pain in the *** and feels self entitled to do whatever he wants in his car on a public road and looks for sympathy...yeah the thread is going to go on for a while.

shika805 04-20-2015 09:32 PM

be a d*** to me, ill be a d*** to you. bottom line. i respect everyone on the road. we all share it... can't we just all get along? remember driving is not a "right" its a privilege.

on that note. my car is slammed. i slimply take the longer routes to avoid heavy traffic and speed bumps. I like my car that way and the way it looks respect that. But if you start being an a**hole by tailgating and honking. You do not have my respect. All these Ferrari owners around town get the respect, holding up traffic and what not? why because they drive a Ferrari? I love my Z like it was a Ferrari. So screw you.

Tigger 04-20-2015 09:52 PM

Think I'm going to go back and "like" each post in this thread.

Look. I hate when someone is being an *** hat and wasting my time on the road. But if you are lowered, trust me, I understand and I won't get on your *** or zoom around you or flip you off. I think we can all tell when someone is deliberately being a pain in the ***. Those are the people I **** with. But then again, I come from this mentality. I know our type of people. I've never actually owned a car I lowered but I know I wouldn't be a douche to someone for having a lowered car (unless you are "stanced" then I'll park my car, get out and walk up to your window while you negotiate that 4 degree incline and shove my **** in your face because that's what you deserve for being a ******* loser).

So... yes. I agree with each point everyone has made here so far. This is a very argumentative topic. I hope it doesn't turn into one of these things where Trips has to come in and close it down because of name-calling bs. Just understand that there needs to be balance here. Don't take all the time in the world negotiating a turn (you did lower your own car) and don't take it so fast you utterly destroy it. If someone is going to honk and flip you off, take a good look at what they are driving. I've been flipped off by someone coming my way before. A guy and his girlfriend in the passenger seat. I did nothing. Just driving. Came up to a speed bump, I slowed down, they slowed down (remember they are coming from the opposite direction!) and the girl flips me off. For no reason. Only thing I could think of at that point.. jealousy. So you have to consider that as part of the equation. And most NYers are just impatient ******** to begin with. They could use a lesson in patience.

How many run-on sentences did I have there?
