It was funny actually. Two cars were blocking the lanes ahead of me. When a gap opened up, I went between them to overtake and there was a stupid pigeon in the middle of the road. It flapped straight up to about hood level, then grazed most of the windshield only to smack the roofline. Looking in the rear-view, a cloud of feathers rained down on the two slow guys behind me. Z unscathed and the world has one less flying rat.

Coming from an 05 350Z Touring with Nismo exhaust and Berks HFC, I'd say this car is so damn quiet that I'm very unpleased with the way it sounds (unless your revving over 4500-5000 RPM which is uncommon for me as a daily drive car)....I miss that loud VQ35DE roar and exhaust sound when I'm driving my 370Z, and that has definitely made me add exhaust and HFC to my to do list.

I'm not necessarily wondering if its too loud. Rather, I'm wondering if it's louder than similar cars.

Coming from 2 Audi TTs (and yes they are 4 cyl) the Z is actually a good bit louder than they are. They (TT) are nice sports cars and are pretty well insulated to keep noise out but IMO the Z is not really quiet but mine will be louder soon with my FI exhaust.

yah, my Z's very quiet until i open her up a little... my stock intake/exhaust G35C is MUCH louder.

the stock exhausts sound nice but dont due justice to the amazing engines we got

The 350z has a louder better sounding exhaust.
