I really don't understand all the hate for the Z. So I figured I'd come to the place that bitches more about the Z than anyone! LOL

Even this "pro Z" article spends 70% of it's writing complaining about it...
Why The Nissan 370Z Nismo Is A Future JDM Classic

2010 this car was voted by multiple sources the best looking car on the road under $50k. Now it's claimed as outdated and 90ish? Just bc it doesn't have a huge tesla touchscreen doesn't take away from the gorgeous interior cockpit of the 370. Test drove a GTR in Cali and in all honestly, the only thing I liked about it was its a GTR. Other than that it felt like just an automatic car cruising around the city. I actually enjoy driving my Nismo a hell of a lot more. The interior sure looks a hell of a lot better and arguably the exterior as well. Then everybody compares pricing, what can you get for at price or cheaper? The Honda Accord coupe with mustang lights...bc that's what the new mustang is, a hyndai? No thanks I'll leave that to the 16 year olds, sti or Evo? Underpowered and Jesus have you seen the interior of those? Talk about 90s. You sure as hell can't get a Porsche that everyone seems to want to think this price point is, bc it's not. There's not a more beautiful production car off the lot than the Nismo that performs at this level for this price. Venting done!

The only thing close to a Nismo Z is the new Porche Cayman GT4. Just saying. The only tweak I would do to the 370z would be to increase the length of the nose a little bit and a few tweaks here and there. That is it. Personally, I hated the 350z. It was not Z like at all. Never did it ever enter my mind to buy a 350z and I am very loyal Z person.

Better clutch and more power. The rest of the issues inherent to the 370z are forgivable.

**warning, this post goes all over the place. Officially a rant but too tired to go back through and clean it up.....

This... Dangitt so much. Everyone wants to compare it to the Porsche and say why would you buy this when you can have a Porsche? MAYBE a 5 year old Porsche? Even so have you guys seen the interior of those? If you say the Z has an outdated boring interior, idk what you call the interior of a Porsche. Nonetheless, he Porsche cayman s (bumping it up to 325 hp, still 25 less than the z Nismo) STARTS at $63,800. That's 50% HIGHER than the Z, what is this mass amount of people that continue to claim they are in the same class. The more I think of it though, if they want to keep having it compete with the Porsche, I suppose that's a good thing? Just crazy how many negative things people say about the Z for a fraction of the price to that they are comparing it to.

I agree there isn't really much of anything available that's a real competitor to the Z. There are plenty of other fast toys in that price range (Mustang, Camaro, STI, etc.) but they're not the same sort of car or what the Z tries to be. So there's the "Z vs. used Cayman" argument which has been done before.

Also, Chris Harris is an idiot. Come on, he picked that underpowered weed-wacker BRZ over the Z? Really? The BRZ might be great for autocross or track days but it's an awful, awful daily driver. Listen to him rant like an idiot about why the Citroen 2CV is the best most fun car to drive ever, and then consider who you're listening to as a source of information on performance cars. And he doesn't like the Miata, either. How can you like the BRZ, but not like the Miata? Lunacy.

So yeah comparing the Z to the Cayman is what Nissan needs to do when they design the next Z, not what we need to do when considering our car's competitors. The Z offers power, performance, handling, good looks, at a reasonable price. I agree you can buy faster cars for the money but I disagree they provide the same sort of experience.

From what I've seen a lot of the articles putting down the z seem to look at it as a boxster, or the cheap, base version of something else. The nismo is there, but it isn't different enough, more like an add-on or second sport package. With that kind of mindset, you start looking at all of the things that could be better as missing features. They're applying a comparison with something better, that doesn't exist, instead of looking at it objectively. Nissan made an objectively great car that outshines whatever else someone might be comparing it to in their price range. But if you ignore money (which isn't reasonable) it might be easy to put the z next to the cayman s or carrera and say the interior isn't as good and talk about the name recognition and decades of refinement, handling characteristics that evoke emotional responses that are really just imagined because of what you heard someone say on top gear... But then, since you're already spending double, why don't you just buy a 911 GT3 because that would be even better...

Chris Harris is sh*t its very obvious he puts his mouth where the money is.
BRZ has huge marketing budget to pay this inconsistent motoring review.

Yeap, 25K more at least. I would hate to know what the maintenance cost is. Tires too.
