Well I was at my sons track meet today and I went out to get some camping chairs that I had when I noticed a big azz hole on the front of my Baby.

Seemed ugly but it just looks like bumper only damage. Let me know what you guys think. I am thinking of tottaling everything that I need to fix it on my own or just my insurance handle it.

DavidZ370 03-07-2015 03:37 PM

You sir have some good luck, from the pics above seems like they missed the headlight and the hood (barely). Wont cost an arm and a leg for sure, pickup a used bumper and go to a good shop for paint. shouldn't be more then 600 bucks for everything if you want to DIY. However personally I would go through insurance and get everything brand new the cost as you can imagine will also be higher but hey insurance is covering it!

Z-Girl 12 03-07-2015 03:44 PM

Camping chairs fit in the Z??? Back on topic, that totally sucks. Hate to hear stuff like that.

Kaldaien 03-07-2015 03:49 PM

If you do it yourself, you might take the opportunity to buy an aftermarket front bumper that does not have those stupid catfish fangs ;) It'd really improve the image of your car.

Sucks that it happened, but you are soooo lucky that it did not bend the hood or damage the headlights in any way. Did the dumbass that did this leave a note? Or was it more likely some foolish kid your son's age?

daywalker 03-07-2015 03:49 PM

Fuggin scumbag mofo's I tell ya. GL with the repairs, man. Sucks to see that.

Nut_N_Much 03-07-2015 04:06 PM

Dude that sucks monkey a$$ !!! So, what kind of replacement are you looking at now?

Fujimara
Stillen
Zele
Amuse

All of them are sexy as hell! Hope it works out buddy.

God that's gross....

JC-Nismo 03-07-2015 04:09 PM

More reason why I never park my car in parking lots.

JC-Nismo 03-07-2015 04:16 PM

If you noticed any kind of pick up truck or SUV parked in front of you then that's who hit you definitely!!!

Where exactly do you park when driving your car?

kenchan 03-07-2015 05:18 PM

dayam..

i suppose if you want to change the front bumper to another design, now would be a good time. sorry to see this.

yah, since buying my Z ive not parked my Z anywhere other than to take a few snaps here and there. only once did i leave the car unattended at a gas station in a wealthy neighborhood while i needed to make a pit stop. :icon17:

but my gopro was still running. :stirthepot:

kenchan 03-07-2015 05:22 PM

but that didnt help me from dinging the rear bumper with a bed frame while parked in my garage..
i put a nice emblem over it to hide it. :ugh:

op will need a pumpkin of an emblem for his damage. :ugh2:

Looking I don't see any other issues I did notice a small scratch on the inside of the hood. I will take pics later you can't tell or see it. I probably will go through insurance to get this fixed.

The good news is that I had a lot of chips on the bumper and some on the hood. I might be able to get it painted to.

I was also thinking about an amuse kit but I'm sure the I insurance will not say the damage is worth 2k.

They sure do fit you known its the ones that fold up and get put away in bags. They are the ones that you get at academy.

Tadpole 03-07-2015 07:10 PM

Yea that does suck but you look to be real lucky damage wise. Have your insurance fix it for you. They can pay you back some of the 1500-2000 you give them every year

RoshDawg 03-08-2015 11:20 AM

Looks like someone's getting a 2015 nismo bumper!

tnav 03-08-2015 11:35 AM

Painful, sorry to hear, another truck backed into you with the tow hitch or something.

This would be the time to do CAI and/or oil cooler since bumper needs to come off

Either way, good luck. I don't believe your insurance would go up since it is comprehensive coverage that would pick it up, not collision

kenchan 03-08-2015 01:04 PM

Fuzzzy 03-08-2015 01:33 PM

Here you go..

OP sorry for the issue, luckily it seems its only bumper cover.

Z-Girl 12 03-08-2015 02:31 PM

Limey you are my man...good lookin out!!!

Magic Bus 03-08-2015 03:47 PM

2 carry bags will fit easier than 2 cart bags. Gotta take out the drivers and possibly fairway woods and lie them on top of the bags for both bags to fit.

TexasChuck 03-08-2015 04:59 PM

Insurance Claim?

Anytime you file an insurance claim it stays on your record for years. And, after two it affects your rates. Weigh both the claim and DIY (handle it yourself) . Sport Car ins is already very high.
Cheers
And what does golf bags have to do with anything??? wTF!

Simmer down Beavis...OP sorry for thread jacking carry on:rofl2:

johnxxx 03-08-2015 07:58 PM

OP... had a similar situation but made the best out of it. I hit a small deer on the PA turnpike on my way into work one morning like 2 months after I got my 14 Nismo... Only damage for me was to my front bumper. Decided it was time for mods... purchased a Stillen front bumper, G3's and the Stillen brake ducts/fangs and had the body shop do everything at once. I essentially bought all the parts and had it shipped to the Body Shop and the costs of the install and paint was covered in what the insurance paid out on the front bumper.

Maybe a gopro like Kenchan and others have is worth the investment for things just like this. I know I'm getting one soon myself.

Good luck to you whatever you decide and sorry to hear...

kenchan 03-08-2015 08:22 PM

Just becareful with gopro's and other 'cool' electronics cause people will break your glass to steal them as necessary.. :ugh:

if i wasn't parked at the nice neighborhood's gas station in broad daylight with rich folks roaming around, would NOT have let the gopro in plain view.

hell, if it was some redneck station, would've just passed that gas station and :eekdance: all the wayz home.

Yeah I know I haven't had any insurance claims in over 10 years so I should be good hopefully my rates won't go up since comprehensive should pick up the tab instead of collision.

Oh and the bags are because of the camping chairs that I put in the trunk.

ZeroZeta 03-08-2015 11:30 PM

OP I can't tell what color your car is from your pic.

If it is GM let me know. I might be able to help you out with a replacement bumper cover.

Trips 03-08-2015 11:32 PM

Sorry to see what happened :(

I can only hope she gets fixed asap.

For everyone else? Please Keep it on Topic!

Thank You.

kidkotic2001 03-08-2015 11:57 PM

Would anyone know if the 2014 nismo front would fit my touring sport. I know the bottom portion would need to be replaced. But is it a straight forward fit. I would love the new nismo front but I'm sure that is expensive and the LEDs would need to be done as well.
