KILLEEN - Three people were taken to a local hospital following a crash in Killeen late Tuesday morning, in which the front of a car came off and landed about 150 feet away.

Police were called to the 100 block of S. Twin Creek Dr. just before noon after getting a 911 call. Responding officers found three people injured in a two vehicle crash.

Witnesses told police a Nissan 370Z was heading south on Twin Creek at fast speeds, when the driver was unable to make a curve and crossed into oncoming traffic.

The Nissan collided with a Chevy Silverado pickup. Officers found the driver of the Nissan on the ground injured outside the vehicle, and two people injured in the Silverado.

Police report the front of the Nissan, including the engine and front tires, came off during the crash and landed 150 feet away.

All three victims were taken to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple by ambulance. Police have not released their names at this time.

Police are still investigating the crash.

The front-end resembles a top fuel dragster now. I guess in-lieu of any NHTSA tests ever done on a z34, this is proof that the front-end absorbs impact effectively - it even gets the engine and front tires out of the way.
