Dude if snows down here even if it's just a dusting I stay home and watch the 300 plus wrecks and traffic jams on TV. Pretty entertaining

That'll buff right out...

J/K, hope everyone has a fast recovery.

Figures it would be in Killeen, it's like they're stuck in the 2000's / F&F early years. Glad I'm not there anymore lol.

Ft. Hood Army base is right there in Killeen. You have a ton of young soldiers who buy fast cars with their deployment/reenlistment money and drive like morons. I just moved from there in 2013.. A couple weeks before my company and myself were scheduled to redeploy back to our home station (defense contracting) A soldier ran a stop sign and smashed into one of our company Suburbans with 5 employees inside. A couple were injured, one guy to this day is still on disability.

I see this a lot. They get a paycheck for the first time and have nothing else to spend it on... It's worse when they get a bike without knowing how to ride it.

It always get worse around military bases because of too many 18 year olds there thinking they are hot **** when they don't know how to drive or have the experience. Usually its not a 370z in a wreck though, but you can go to any military parking lot and count every other car as mustang, camaro, challenger, camaro, mustang, mustang, challenger, camaro and so on. Also, beware of the military truck drivers too. They had a situation on Ft. Lewis where a guys truck was crushed with him in it by a Stryker. Doesn't matter what civilian vehicle you are in...you will not survive that battle.

Not to get too far off topic but yeah, tanks have the right of way. Out at White Sands, a guy in a car driving down the main road got caught under a tank because he wasn't paying attention. Those guys fly across the roads at speed. Crazy ****.

Wow. Profiling and assumption of driving habits of our military folks? Drive in Austin Texas and see how many asstards on the road and none of them are military.

Have you been to Dallas?! or Houston?!

The bigger the city.. the more congestion.. the worse the drivers...

Sadly, this is true. I've seen young Airmen, Sailors, and Marines drive their 300+ hp cars like idiots all the time.

There are bad drivers everywhere. Most problems I face are when people change lanes without looking. I was in the military for 6 and a half years and spent time at several bases. I know first hand the difference in driving attitudes from military bases and far from military bases. I think the biggest problem around military bases is the aggressive driving. Being on several combat tours, I understand the adrenaline rush and disregards to drivers who I feel are in my way. Took time and and counseling to calm myself down a bit.

NoLaKrewe 02-06-2015 04:32 AM

I concur with the new enlist drive like **** sentiment.

Yep I spent 10 years in the military as well and was a cop. Trust me I know the young men are aggressive at driving but in comparison to everyone else's driving habits it's a wash.
As far as larger cities goes, Austin TX if the 4th worst city to drive in the US. Yes it's horrible here as I'm sure my fellow Austinites will confirm.
