As a rule-of-thumb, the larger the car, the safer you are in a wreck. So, yeah, a 370Z is probably not as safe as a Lincoln Town Car in a wreck. But with the Z - a smaller, nimbler vehicle - you are more able to avoid the wreck in the first place.
I hit a tree hard enough to knock the right front tire/brake/suspension off my '09 Z and my only injury was a small burn to my hand from the air bag. The car did more damage to me than the tree did.
