I'm hearing rumors that it will be a 4 Cylinder TT since they want to get out of the whole v6 thing for good, I guess engine swap for me if I do get the new Z.

the Detroit Auto Show, Nissan chief planning officer Andy Palmer dropped some details on this new Z:
On a replacement for the 370Z, he said: "I know what the powertrain will be and I know it will exist. It would be reasonable to assume it will have a downsized turbo engine. There will be normal and Nismo versions." ...doesn't necessarily mean 4 cylinders....fingers crossed |

A V6 turbo is obviously what everyone wants so a V6 natural as pirated and a turbo version like they had in the 90s would be great but the big picture besides engine choice is serious weight savings. I am on board for a 4 cylinder turbo if the weight is 2850 pounds or less and power is mid 300s. Just use as an example my wife had a V6 sonata with 235hp and got 30mpg we traded in for a 2012 sonata 4 cylinder turbo with direct injection 275hp that gets 35mpg and has more torque and is much faster.... just saying sometimes a 4 cylinder turbo is a better engine in all departments |
Hi, My first post here, I drive an Altima and I'm ready to trade this Altima for a brand new Z35 or the Z34 (in case Nissan screws the Z35 with a 4 banger with no V6 option)
I just wanted to remember everybody that Nissan HAS a brand new V6 turbo, and I'm hopping this will be the next engine for the Z. www autoblog.com/2014/02/19/infiniti-q50-eau-rouge-engine-geneva-video/ Yeah..it's the engine for the Q50 Eau Rouge, something like this happened before with the VQ37VHR, first was anounced with the infinity G37/Skyline 370GT and then, a year later, was available for the 370Z. I just hopping for the same strategy. (Sorry for my English, I'm Argentinian) |
^^^very interesting. sounds sexy too!

welp if the next Z looks blah and has a 4 banger i may just try and get this Q50 lol |

Like someone mentioned on here, it will hurt sales on Nissan if a Z TT can challenge a GTR off the line, they'd be just going against themselves. Still, fingers crossed lol |

fixed. |
It's more of a rear camber issue than tire compound.

i actually have been looking into leveling out my rear camber for drag racing. |

Lol and off the line I meant like off production |

and remember these engine output specs are for the engine being placed in the highest end of the Q50 and it's a special edition. the price will most certainly reflect that i;m guessing. therefore that engine will cost you closer to the big brother GTR's price tag. i have to believe that the 500hp/600tq engine isnt going into a new Z. maybe a lesser version around 375-400HP to give a gap between it, the q50 eau rouge, and GTR. prices will most likely reflect the gaps as well. |
