Bose Speaker Placement?

I did some searching around. The black Bose disk in the trunk is misleading. Apparently if you open it up you will see two separate sub woofers inside next to

Apparently if you open it up you will see two separate sub woofers inside next to each other facing the same direction (up) and a small amp across from them... weird.
