Default NISMO wing replacment

Anyone ever replace the NISMO wing with the sport model spoiler?

I was never a fan of the wing, I prefer the look of the sport model spoiler. Wonder how the bolt holes match up? I'd like to replace it, but don't want to deal with body work and holes.

Does the sport model spoiler at least cover the Nismo wing holes?'

Input from anyone with experience is appreciated.

I'll take you up on that if I can figure out how to replace it.

Spoke to a dealership a while back re: going the other direction putting a Nismo spoiler on a sport and was basically told there are multiple parts involved in that wing and that it's not "cost effective" to even attempt it.

If you get the ~2009 S-tune wedge spoiler it will probably cover the holes. I doubt the tiny sport model lip spoiler would though.

I believe the Sport spoiler will cover up the holes. I read that they use some of the same holes too as one member said he actually installed the Nissan Nismo spoiler (Not S-Tune) and it used the same holes.

Might just be easier to swap trunks with someone. I know that was popular with the 350z's back in the day. Find someone who you want to swap spoilers with and just swap the whole trunk lid; preferably someone with the same color car as yours to avoid having to repain.

Yeah I am pretty sure if you advertize a one for one trunk swap no cash, someone will DRIVE all the way to you to do the deed. lol Problem easily solved!

I was thinking this maybe the easier route. But where is the key sensor for the trunk? If it's in the hatch you're swapping, no more trunky open.

FYI I would have done this in a heartbeat with my old ride. People love that wing. Guarantee you someone will do it.

Edit: Ha ha, the poster above makes a good point. Also the struts that regulate how fast your rear hatch goes up won't be calibrated properly for sure since the NISMO spoiler is a lot heavier. No idea if this can be changed or not.

The stock sports spoiler should cover all the holes for the nismo. The sports spoiler has CRAZY amount of holes take a look here. I took off my sports spoiler and installed a nismo seibon replica.

Here are all the holes (not necessary really....) With the 4 bolts, its more than enough just double side tape the rest... I can take better pics of my stock sport spoiler if u want. It is just sitting in my room.

I can get you more pics if needed.

Ouch..... If one has a Nismo & doesn't like the spoiler, then why buy a Nismo to begin with. Another thing to take into account is if you already have a backup camera installd. If so & swapping out trunks will probably be a very big headache.

Yea, that is one expensive mod. Not for me. I get compliments on the spoiler. Saying how much better it looks then a crazy one sticking out too much. Its also not just for looks, the Nismo spoiler has 140 lbs of down force at 70mph.
