panel fell off... what's the purpose?

Take a picture of the bottom. i bet just the front bolts needed to be drilled out in the correct spots for the front. Or better yet, if anyone is

Take a picture of the bottom. i bet just the front bolts needed to be drilled out in the correct spots for the front. Or better yet, if anyone is changing their oil, take a high resolution picture of the factory plastic panel.

No, the NISMO undershroud is COMPLETELY different in shape...and ALOT more expensive. Try nearly 6 ~ 7 times more expensive without the piece in question included....or even the $30 of hardware.

Go back and check out the Nissan Parts Zone link the OP attached. The factory lower spash shield on the NISMO covers the entire area under the fascia, whereas the NON-Nismo's have the L-shaped fender liners to complete the area under there.
