They are different. You'll need to research the spring rates though.

All Nismos 2015 onwards come with black springs and black shocks, unfortunately. I believe previous to '15 model year, the springs were red and the shocks silver. It's just a production change, I guess. Cost savings, maybe?

The rear shocks are the key to making the ride more livable....I have a 2013 worst ride in a car I have ever felt with the Nismo silver shocks. Took them out and put in the OEM 2013 Euro tuned Nissan sport shocks.....better handling, and ride is nice and smooth.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. My 16 Nismo has black springs as well.

I have been looking for a set of black Nismo springs to try on my sport with Konis. PM me if anyone has some to sell.

I noticed the same thing on my 2017. NissanNews press kit reports all NISMOs are supposed to have the grey struts and red springs....

Is there a definitive answer to this? My 19 has black springs. However, looking at Nissan's website, its showing a picture with red springs. Is there actually a mechanical difference, or is it just a color change?

Did you read the thread? Pre-2015 Nismos have red springs. 2015+ Nismos have black springs. The red springs are slightly stiffer IINM. Can't remember exact spring rates for each - a little bit of searching will tell you.

Just wondering, in the last post before my question, some guy mentions that they're supposed to be red. And the pic on the website too. Just had me wondering. I guess the red paint went to the calipers instead.
