New to 370z and confused

Guys,

Im from Newnan Georgia and i work in Atlanta. The 370z wont be my daily driver. I am kind of confused at the moment what to do. Here is my situation.

I currently own a White 04 S2000 with less than 20K miles on it, this is my baby which i drive about 2-4 times a month. I also have an 05 Blue s2000 with 50K i had this before i bought my white s2k from an older gentleman from Florida, this was my daily driver at one point. I also have an 06 EVO 9 MR which currently sits along with the other 2 S2K`s. My daily driver is an 05 RSX type-S with 90xxx miles and counting. Its been very reliable and constantly gets above 30+ mpg for me since its mostly highway interstate from newnan to dunwoody.

My two S2K are paid off. I owe $158xx on my evo and $11300 on my rsx-s.

I currently have saved up $14000 for a new car(specifically for the 370). Im thinking i might have to let go of either the EVO or RSX-S. Between the two i love the EVO alot more. But for my drive to work the rsx-s is so much better in gas and maintenance.

I found a few dealerships that have the yellow and blue Z, which are my top choices in color. Yellow being only for 09 and blue is kinda unusual for the monterrey blue. Trading my rsx is only valued around 9K and while the EVo is about 19K. So yes i am upside down on my rsx because of mileage.

I dont really want to part ways with my evo but its more likely the scenario. it sucks because it took me almost a year to find the right EVO MR because alot of cars i looked at where ragged out or modded like crazy. I want an OEM bone stock evo mr. I dont mod much, but i feel the 370 with full bolt-ons and a reflash wont be good enough for me.

I dont really want to wait a long time since the cars 09 370z ive been looking at will probably be gone before the year ends. I am looking for the base-sport or Base-Sport-Touring. dont really need the navi since its a weekend car.

i tried looking for the difference between the touring-sport and base with sport. Only thing i notice is the bose, leather seats, heated seats. Are those the only difference?

Sorry for the long post i am not getting my head straight right now and cant get this 370 z out of my mind. I thought i already got a fairly stable car lineup and after test driving the 370, i want one badly.

Thank you and looking forward to being a member here,

Wilson

PICS ARE UPLOADED!

might I suggest trading in the blue S2k and keeping the evo? I don't see a real need to have 2 of the same car, and it seems the white one is your favorite. Use the $$ from the trade in and the 14k to buy the Z outright, or damn near close to it.

an unmodded evo is definitely difficult to find, you may want to hold onto that one!

White S2000 is the best.

The Laguna Blue S2000 is nice as hell too, but since you already have white, I would trade that in.

If they were different, like an AP1 and AP2 then I would say keep them both but they are both AP2 so they are very very similar between 04 and 05.

:iagree: why two S2000s? lose the blue one and be happy

Sell both Honda's and buy the 370. After a month you'll have discovered that you haven't hardly driven the Evo at which point you can sell that too to finance the upgrades to the 370. :p

Coming from a previous owner of a 2003 Honda S2k...sell at least one of em and get the 370z. With all these cars... what do you do for a living?

Well in either case, you don't need two of the same car like a few members suggested.

there`s just one problem with the blue s2000 , its my wife`s car. So i cannot touch it!!!! I dont want to be the next tiger woods with a wife incident. i guess now it will just go down between the rsx type-s and the evo 9 as which one to go. I dont know yet...

Do you have any transmission issues with the 370z yet?

KillerBee370 12-11-2009 02:25 PM

You need to mix it up more and drive 'em all. If you got 'em, drive 'em. Not one of those cars is gaining any value regardless of the low miles. It ain't an Enzo.

Hey... who do you have so many cars anyway?

Ok... that aside... I would be rid of the RSX if anything. Upside down or not. If you really have a clean, stock MR, keep that because you won't come across one of those again and it's kind of an iconic style for that vehicle (even if it is a shopping cart :icon17: ) Drive that damn white S2K a lot more and enjoy it. Once you get a 370 you will not have need for so many cars. :p

Oh.. since the blue S2K is the wifey's car, leave it out of the equation unless you like sleeping on the couch.

:tiphat:

I love the tiger analogy lmao

id get rid of a s2000
Edited: i didnt realize a s2k was yours wifes, id get rid of the rsx then, sure you wont get as much for it but you would be left with a s2k/evo mr/ and a 370
sounds like a pretty good stable to me

guys just an update - i might be a Z370 owner in a few days.
The rsx-s might be toast... Dealership saw my Evo 9 MR and the owner liked it and offered 19K for it. Which gives a $4000 equity towards the trade of the chicane yellow i might be getting. They`ve got a good price too $29990 plus $349 dealership fee and $18 tag fee. Plus pay the tax on the difference on the trade. $31888 out the door for an 09 with 15 miles. Depending of course which car i trade it...

the 31888 is if i trade the rsx-s and getting $10000 for it. Which i owe 11500 on it. which makes me $1500 upside down and i was planing on putting down $10000 on it. which means i only be really putting down $8500. So 31888 less 8500 = 23338

If i go with the evo route i get $19000 for the evo = $4000 equity toward the trade and i get taxes roughly $11000($770) so 29999+349+18+770= 31136 - $4000 = 27136 - $10000 = 17136 total.

I also get to get a reliable beater with the rsx. I dont know if the evo is going to be a good daily driver when it gets some age on it. A buddy was offering to buy it from me to about $19800. Im tempted to sell it to him, but i`ll get shafted with the taxes. I guess its about the same, only difference is i`ll still get to see my evo every now then on sundays in church.

Yes i know they dont gain any value with low mileage, but it helps me with maintenance if they are lower mileage.

My dad has a 69 Superbee - i figured by the time i hit his age the Evo, s2k, 370z will be a classic by then. I should take long for the s2k to reach that, since they`ve been out for 10 years now. And the evo is a icon for most car enthusiast.

KillerBee370 12-12-2009 08:54 AM

Yellow ftw!

:icon18: I'm a hater... :stirthepot: A 4-door as an icon? Okay then....

I'd get rid of the S2K that is your own and the EVO. Keep the RSX for the DD.

Good luck getting the Z.
