Default Proud new owner of a 370z

I have wanted one since before they came out and I was still in junior high. My Subaru Impreza (non-turbo) I had a 4 year lease on just took a crap on me (needs a new engine) and I wasn't planing on keeping the care to begin with but it looks like I will have to spend $4k in repairs and buy it for my end lease buy price ($9300) and hopefully sell it for at least $8-9k.

I got my 350z with sports package for $500 over invoice which I think was a pretty good deal as it was a very rare configuration and only had 8 miles on it. I wanted it to be blue, manual transmission, and with the sports package. I only could find about 4-5 blue 350z's in Southern California and all but one were automatic. Not only that but the one I did find was in a dealer only 20 miles away!

I setup the deal through email and phone before even going in and am pretty happy with the deal I got as I did not expect at or below invoice on this rare of a 350z configuration (the dealer new it was rare and mentioned that this was the only one in the area).

So far I am really liking it except I miss the oil pressure gauge my dad's 350z has and the digital speedometer. I also found out from the dealer if I hit the clutch I can get this key-less thing into AC and ON mode but I am still not sure how to turn the care back to 'off' once its in AC or ON mode without starting it. Maybe someone could throw me a pointer?

Anyway here are some pictures of my 2010 370z next to my dad's 2004 350Z that has over 100k miles on it (had 6 or 7 when he bought it).

If you look closely in that last picture you might be able to see the old 280z that my dad bought 81' which I drove for the first few years of my driving life.

I just recently bought a house (haven't moved in yet) and finally own my own 370z so I am really happy two have my two biggest dreams fulfilled at 25.

Nice to meet you all and I am sure I will stick my head around if I run into problems or have questions!

Its my dad's garage and his house as I haven't moved into mine yet... Its not quite as much but sadly I paid almost as much for my house as he did for his due to the difference in house prices 8-9 years ago even though its significantly smaller and only has a 2-car garage. The dealer offered me 4.2% APR on a 60 month term which was their lowest rate (teir 0 on their table) but It looks like I am gonna go with B of A.

Congratulations! You're Approved for an Auto Loan
You're approved for the following offers.
Loan Amount Vehicle Term APR1 As Low As
$33,009.89 Used 60 months 3.95%
$33,009.89 Used 72 months 4.11%
$33,009.89 New 60 months 3.44%
$33,009.89 New 72 months 3.71%

I am thinking about doing 72 months too. An additional $800 over the life of the loan but it reduces my monthly payments from around $600/month to $512 which is a full $100 lower than what they would have been going with the Dealer's financing.

Congrats.
My last one was like your dad's.

To shut it off while in the AC or On mode, take your foot off of the clutch and hit the button one more time. It won't start if you're not on the clutch.

with your foot off the clutch, press the start button twice quickly (like double clicking a mouse) to get it back into AC mode without turning the car off. Congrats on the new car, and i'd love to see pics of the 280

Thanks for the info. It also took a while to get used to the accelerator as its not hanging from the top anymore (attached from the bottom) which changes the feeling a bit. I am really enjoying the car though! Had to drive 100 miles on it today to deal with the old subaru that crapped out on me. The only reason I got that subaru was I was working part time and it was a good price and I was not even close to being able to afford a 350z.

Here is a pic of the 280z. This is probably from 5-6 years ago back when I was actually driving it as my everyday car. Has over 200k miles on it:

Well apparently I could have gotten the B of A loan at the dealer as that is the bank they use for their loans. I had to go back in and work out the new interest rate after working with B of A.

Because the loan was over 30k I got an additional 0.15% off the interest rate so I ended up getting 3.5% APR on a 72 month loan. Figured I could always pay it off early so its better to get the lower monthly payments to make sure I have a lot of cash in my preserves on the off-chance I got laid off or something.

I am really enjoying the car =) I have already fallen in love with it =)
