I've noticed Season 3 speeding right along. So far so good, but it would have been nice to see how Dany got her ship and I was hoping to see Vargo Hoat capture Brienne and Jaime.

+1 for putting Theon through some deserved agony

sorry, sorry!

The Daenerys and Harrenhal story archs are the most jacked up compared to the books. Since we haven't seen Vargo Hoat yet, I don't think he will be in the series. My guess is that Dany took Xaro Xhoan Daxos's ships (along with everything else) at the end of last season instead of Illyrio sending his to take her back to Pentos.

Roose Bolton has definitely been a subtle character being with Rob Stark the whole time until now. I am not sure where they are going with Brienne and Jaime being captured by his men. Also he has concealed the fact that he is "holding" Theon which is a fact that Rob would be interested in. Theon was hardly mentioned in A Storm of Swords let alone included in any of the scenes.

The differences are interesting though and creates anticipation for me even knowing what is generally going to happen by reading the books.

I, personally, am glad to see this much divergence from the books. It almost makes it a separate story.

agreed, it kinda sucks when you know what is going to happen already. nice to know there may be some surprises here and there.

I think it's still the same story told a different way. There are simply too many characters as it is. For someone watching and not reading the books like a few people I know, it get's confusing trying to follow each story line. Also, because some details have already changed, it changes a lot of things down the line and makes it very difficult to stay on track. I don't mind it and I think the writers did a great job to keep the major events intact. If you think about it, had these books been a movie instead of a series, I don't think it would be anywhere as good. I honestly can't think of any other series that has this much attention to detail.

really digging season 3 so far

BlackZeda 04-09-2013 09:49 PM

I have read on other forums how some people are disappointed with season 3 so far.....WHAT!!!!!!! Sorry to say but I think people are friggin' stupid and spoiled. Short attention span...ADD...ADHD...moronicism...I don't know. They are setting us up for some pretty incredible scenes at the end of the season.

I won't miss Vargo Hoat. His lisp was very annoying when reading the books.

that hand still needs to find a way to come off as far as I'm concerned

The hand is off and that episode (S3,E3) was freakin' awesome.

So throw away every "Reek" crap in the books...it looks like they are creating a new story arch for Theon. I really like the actors that are playing the Blackfish and Edmure Tullly, which it seems that the screenwriters are taking a lot of liberty with them as well.

Again, they are setting us up for a great season finally.

Am I the only one that watches each new GOT episode twice?

No way, I watch them twice too. The show is so dense, you always miss something the first time.

But I have to sort of agree with a lot of other people, while the show is good, I feel its missing something. There is so much crammed into each episode, I don't get to enjoy it. There are about 2 major scenes that are awesome per episode so far, and it is not enough. 10 episodes per season is not enough. If there were 15, or even 12 episodes per season, it would flow so much better.

And yeah the Blackfish is pretty badass. I hope we get to see more of him.
