Well I can't wait till season three to find out what is going to happen, and I have been told the books are good so I bought the first four in a set. I am almost done with the first book and I have to say that although there is a lot more detail (of course) the HBO series is pretty faithful to the books. Very refreshing and definitely a good read!

Side note: I got my Gpaw hooked on the books, as he doesn't have hbo. He is on his 2nd go round on the books, i think i'll get him the dvd's for christmas.

Yep. I was actually happy to find out that HBO was doing this in an ongoing series instead of a movie or 3. Plenty of time to flesh out the details that make the books so good in the first place. If they continue with the one book/one season/10 shows per season, that's going to be 70 hours of film. Not going to get that out of a hollywood movie studio.

Dare I say "Epic win" for HBO? Everytime I think about canceling they come up with something like GOT. Rome and Six Feet Under were two of my very favorite shows ever and GOT can be counted right up there.
