I hope so. Considering he's one of the few characters who doesn't make constant bonehead decisions, he deserves to live. At this point I kinda want to see Daryl, Michonne and Carl just pack up and leave to wander the earth and kill zombies.

You knew he was a dead man when he had multiple lines in the same episode.

According to the Exec Producer that was on 'Talking Dead' after the show finished, this season is going to get intense and in a hurry, so I think it was a perfect set up episode to start the season.

Yep. We needed some no names to kill off. We killed all the really annoying people last season, so they had to replenish the ranks.

So it looks the a plague of some sort made them die....with the rats dying I think the Black Plague did them in. It was carried by the fleas that lived on rats and then spread to humans that lived in close quarters. The conditions at the prison are not too sanitary and farming in the yard where the rats live gives them contact wit the fleas. The black death was quick....you would die within 24 hours, from being healthy to dead that fast. Younger people and older people were more immune, those in between were not. A well written show last night.

We'll have to see. The pig in the first episode died too, and I don't remember the Black Plague affecting anything but humans. The rats died from being fed to the zombies to make them clump up against the fence unless I missed something.

When we saw the mouse in the fence getting eaten at the beginning of the episode it looked like there was a flashlight that got switched off, like someone was actually feed them. Which would explain why so many were building up in one location.

But where was the seemingly full time fence crew we saw in the season premier? They kept mentioning the stress on the fence but they were all just looking at it from afar.

We also know that there is someone in the prison torching the sick. Which I didn't see coming, but it looks like Tyresse may stop being such a softy now that Karen has been killed.

Hopefully. He's kinda been a bitch for the first two episodes. I'm guessing whoever burnt the sick people isn't the one trying to bring down the fences, so we've got two people in the prison making trouble. If you were trying to get zombies into the prison by bringing down the fences, you definitely wouldn't burn people that would die from the flu and cause chaos in the prison.

And in what world is it a bad thing to teach kids how to defend themselves when there's zombies running around? I would think it would be part of the curriculum from day one. Math, history, killing zombies, then recess.

And, I think Rick is finally snapping out of his funk.

Finally. I still don't think he's the most stable individual, but at least he's not doing the "pacifist farmer" bit anymore.

I agree. It appears that he's finally starting to realize that he can't sit idly by living a "normal" life while other people run the show without him. Finalizing it in the scene where he got his and Carl's back out.
