thanks the physical part is easy. The written is pretty similar to the Illinois test. Missouri seems to hire pretty regularly so I wanted to give it a shot.

Don't know where you live, but Hwy 40 would be easier as the HWY Patrol is right at 94 and 40, unless you live on the north side. From 70 and 94 it is about 15-20 min in normal traffic. I live about 7 min from the HWY Patrol in Weldon Springs. What time will you be there?

I know it starts early in the morning so going my Red's assessment I should be done by noon or so.

Im in Illinois so I really hadnt taken a look where I had to go yet. So shouldnt be hard to find it sounds like. It would be great to meet up after.

StLRedrider 02-16-2012 10:19 PM

it's easy, hwy 40 to 94 make a right and then down on right no more than 1/4 mile

StLRedrider 02-16-2012 10:20 PM

from 270/40, close to where i live prob 40 minutes max. and if it's on a sat u shouldn't have no prob at all unless they close the d boone bridge

well compared to the STL County physical this one seems like a cakewalk.

16:46 for 1.5 mi.....i can walk it in that....

if the written is like the Illinois one it shouldnt be that bad.

how many others tested when you took it?
When I took IL state there were 1500...dead serious

i wanna say they split it up into 3rds, my arrival time was 10 and didn't leave till 12:30 0r 1

the thing about mo. state is they start you out cheap and you sign a contract where you can't go anywhere else for 2 years. starting pay in 2003 was like 27 grand a year

StLRedrider 02-16-2012 10:59 PM

yeah i didnt see anything about a contract but yea pay is def. less than IL on the pay front. But that contract thing kinda worries me. I guess I'll cross that bridge when/if it comes up. But I like how MO lays the entire process out all the way till when you would start the academy. Im in waiting hell with like 3 departments right now.

i think probationary officers start at 36k a year so hey I'll take it. theres always overtime for a young single no children guy. For the academy training and experience it really cant hurt and its better than the bank.

from what i understood, they don't want somebody going through there 6 month program and then walking out for a better paying position. then they also give you three choices of part of the state on where you want to go

see thats what I always worry about. I know depts have to protect their investments. I mean if I got a job with MO but then my local town offered me the job it would be hard... like a 10k pay bump and i live in the town already....

but on the Flip side MO state would allow me to do more and probably more federal connections which is where I want to be eventually anyway.

I do wonder if you get a take home car with MO. You do in IL....
It would be nice to not have to drive the Z.

As long as I got either STL, COMO or Cape, I'd be a happy camper. If I took STL, I could move out by all you guys.....it would make meets easier..

US Marshals is opening up on March 5 for like 48 hours or first 5000 applications
so Ill be staying up late on that sunday and try to be one of the first.
My parents go to church with the head Marshal in the southern IL district and he has given me a tour so that might help but like I said, first opportunity that comes up will probably get a yes from me. Beggars cant be choosers.

its more than I can say for some other people on this site if you catch my drift....

StLRedrider 02-17-2012 01:03 PM

Love the part with the coach saying when mizzou is on they are unstoppable. So all you can do is hope they aren't "on"

National Auto Sport Association - nasaproracing.com

Me and a friend of mine have been wanting to go to a track day for awhile, but I've never been before. I don't really know what all that info on the registration page is...help?

LOL...I don't blame you. My brother went down to pick up some of his friends and he said there where people passed out in the grass every 5 yards.

He said he's never seen anything like it, and was questioning if someone was tampering with the drinks.

sdfoster91 02-21-2012 09:58 PM

i wouldnt even dream of takin my z to mardi grah

i would take the metro before driving anything let alone the z

haggomyeggo 02-22-2012 07:19 PM

My z stayed comfy in my garage in IL for mardi gras.

We had my buddy's wife drop is off and pick us up. She felt she was getting too old for mardi gras. She is younger than both of us....
Oh well free ride!!

StLRedrider 02-22-2012 10:12 PM

never been to mardi gras

sfearl1 02-22-2012 10:20 PM

We actually went out to grab a sandwitch at Blues City Deli, but the streets were so packed there was no place to park. Parking lot spaces were going for $20.

Went to Pita Pit instead

Me neither.

I've been once, got to ride on a float. Girl fell off and cracked her head open. I was like never doing this again. Too afraid of being sued.

Drive

Jalopnik (automotive blog) had a recent post, "10 Great Driving Roads You've Never Heard Of" (http://jalopnik.com/5888002/ten-grea...d-of/gallery/1)

Surprisingly, one that's right in our own back yard popped in on the #2 spot.

Bismarck, MO to Roubidoux, MO - Google Maps

Curious if any of you have ever driven this? Any good? Worth the drive? Anyone up for a Z road trip? :happydance:
