Grattan Raceway video (at speed) :driving: coming soon to a theater near you...

The mic i used was a POS sony mic.
- I'd recommend some CRAZY good wind sock for the thing. Or whatever you call those fuzzy things that cover mic's.
- I put the mic Inside the car. Anything outside gets killed by wind noise.

P.S.
OH and for your GoPro, you need to buy an attachment which allows audio-in.

That's what I was worried about with the whitelines, as i read a few issues about them before. Strange for such a reputable company to have issues like this.

 on the mic. I saw before a forum member had the go pro mounted on the quarter window door or hood, but ran a cord to the mic mounted between his exhaust pipes. Sounded fantastic.

Did you catch air over the jump?

No dice... the jump upsets the ABS computer if you leave the ground.

Thus, on the landing... ABS is applied and you skid off without braking into the grass.

So no, air was purposefully not caught.

Whiteline Anti-Roll bar update

It's now uninstalled and the OEM bar is back on the car.

They have found another vehicle's bushing which has the appropriate lip to keep the sway bar in place.

Also they will be sending me a brand new Front Sway Bar because i had to drive "bushing-less" for 300 miles, with the bar rattling over every f*ing bump.

So A+ customer service Whiteline. C- product design

ZMan8 10-09-2014 01:32 PM

Im glad they at least worked with you on this.

Meulen 10-09-2014 01:49 PM

Sean, don't all the big racer guys go with Hotchis or Stillen sways? why would you go with Whiteline?

Whiteline is quite reputable company and were huge on the 350z platform.

Stillen is more of a street sway bar as it's not aggressive enough for track. From what I'm seeing track guys are doing Hotchkis or Eibach.

It's a solid bar = sturdier?
They sold JUST the front bar, which is what i wanted.
I have enough over-steer issues as it is :-p

OH and they came with the lateral locks... which turned out to the be the problem. Seemed like a good idea the time.

Starved Rock Cruise!

Sunday Oct 19th, premeet 9:30 am and cruise out 10 am. We will be watching the bears game for those interested when we get to the park. :)

Premeet:
Parking Lot adjacent to Barnes & Nobles
Woodfield Plaza Shopping Center
590 East Golf Road
Schaumburg, IL 60173

This will be the last cruise we do this year as the temperatures are dropping and winter is approaching. We'll still catch some of the fall colors down state so that will make for good scenery and photo ops. Normal cruise etiquette applies, so please leave any BS at home.

fire165 10-15-2014 08:24 PM

Damn! This is the one event I wanted to go, and I have to be at work...my luck.
Im sure they'll be at ton of pics to see later.

Looks like my CSC is damn near ******, I've got almost no pressure in my clutch pedal except right at the floor, so I don't think I'll be there.

So on Sunday I felt some vibration while breaking ? Could it be the breaks since I haven't touched since I got the car or could it just be some alignment?

Do your brakes make any noises? I dont know if worn brakes cause much vibration, more so you'll notice decreased stopping performance and noise/sqeaking.

It could definitely be an alignment issue.

If it's only while braking it's your rotors, they're warped. I have the same issue. Stock Nissan rotors are garbage, all 3 of my Nissan's have warped the OEM rotors before 30k. I'm planning on doing my brake upgrade over the winter.

jlo370z 10-22-2014 06:09 PM

Mine warped over first winter but I'm still driving on them. At least one more time Anyhow.

Yeah, typically shaking when braking = warped rotors. Shaking at higher speeds (not braking) = wheel balance.

I'm loving my Z1 2 piece! Not a fan of Z1 in general because of the oil cooler crap they pulled on me, but these seem solid!

osbornsm 10-23-2014 10:07 AM

Doesn't feel like working at work, or at home for that matter.
