Are the 13 still having this issue?

It has only been happening in cold correct or has it been going on in summer as well?

One of the first things I did was pull my fuse! Not worth the hassle.

What year is your z pat? Do you know What revision Your lock is?

I have a 2009 and have no idea on the version, I have to check the build date of my car.

1st thing i'm going to do before I pay for the new one is bang it with a rubber mallet and see if I can get it to work ( wish me luck ).

If that doesn't work, i'll have to install the new one and pull the fuse......should have done it before storage

370z's after 2011 don't have the locking fuse included, so nothing to go bad.

You have first one (revision a) revision a and b (ehat i have) are basically guaranteed to fail. C is hit or miss. D is only a couple known failures.

I did mine 3x yesterday and then woke up to 3ft of snow the plow dumped infront of my driveway! I would've been able to get out if they didn't plow at all, but after the plow I had to dig out!! WTH do I pay taxes for again???

We pay taxes so they can bend us over and ram it our ............:icon23:

I got up this morning to the same thing. A mountain of snow at the end of the driveway. I said, that's it, I am working for home today.

Going out to dig out now. What a great way to spend a lunch break:icon14:

Hearing these stories actually makes me glad I am in a apartment - for once. The rest of the year I stare longingly at big attached garages I pass by.

ZMan8 02-19-2014 12:06 AM

Well my garage has flooded :ugh2: :(

b15 02-19-2014 06:48 AM

My hoa continues to impress me every winter. My driveway is always clear when theres 2"+ of snow so I don't have to deal with huge snowbanks.

All the snow piled against the side of the garage and the way the driveway is designed has resulted in everything that melts to leak right in

That sucks. Is your driveway not slightly elevated so the water flows away from the house?

It is, but right near the garage the driveway actually angles back towards the house. Fail on contractors part.

So what is to happen when it rains like hell here tonight or any other night for that matter?

Your hoa may cover the fix for that. You have a townhouse, right?

Ni55anPat 02-19-2014 05:28 PM

damn Ken that sucks..........I had my lower level flood last week, I feel ur pain.

I replaced the steering lock last night and all is good, took 5 minutes and pulled the fuse.

to make up for that, my wheels should be done in 2 weeks....WOOT

No this is a 15 year old town house. Actually, when it just rains I don't have issues. I had 6 ft high snow mounds near the garage which I think caused this.

2006 Murano

Fellow Chicagoian Brothers,

I recently purchased a 2006 Nissan Murano for my wife. Bought it back in September '13. Good thing......especially with this winter. It has been a rock and at least I feel very confident when my wife drives it while encountering bad weather......which seems to be every 3rd day this year.

My question is this. The car has only 58K miles on her. I'm not familiar with 3.5L engine, but I have been advised it is the same engine that was in the 350z. I just had the oil changed with Nissan Ester the other day. Is this overkill? Does the 3.5L have VVEL like the 3.7L?

Are there any benefits to using the Ester here or should I just stick with conventional oil?

Many thanks.

It's similar to the 03-05 350z with different tuning. This is the first gen VQ35de (second gens are in the 07+ Altimas and 09+ muranos). There is no VVEL and using a good conventional oil will be fine, ester is not required but won't hurt anything except your wallet. You're probably better off running a good synthetic for the price of Nissan ester though. Also the most common issue with the first gen VQ35de is the timing chain tensioner going bad.

I would say April is the best bet. Sometimes March may have good weather so we'll have to see how quick Spring comes.
