Just watch those hills. They can be a killer but at the same time I would seek them out. It will help you learn the car and clutch. Of course there is always that moment when you kill the car in traffic and know everybody is laughing on saying "If you can't find it, grind it".

i hate the clutch pedal in the 370z, the 350 was so much better with feeling the engagement!

Haven't driven the 370 stick yet....Love the feel of the 350's when I had it for a whole 6 months before getting the 370.
After spending $1200 after bending the forks on my corbra and then getting ripped off by a ford dealer in Huntsville,AL because my clutch plate had slipped ( got me for $1000). They seen the MO plate and seen $$$. To the parts back to my dealer and he helped me file a complaint to Ford about them. Of course nothing happened and I received $0 back.

You mean the lighter spring that is talked about on this forum as the remedy to the crappy feeling clutch?

You sure you aren't feeling our cars overly aggressive vdc kicking in? it takes sooo much power away in first sometimes.

sometime when u get a chance, flip the vdc off (in an open area of course) and lay into it in first. also, first to second can be clunky in our cars. sounds like something taht may smooth out aftr some time behind the wheel.

and as for the lighter clutch helper springs: that really bums me out that that thing doesn't fix our vague clutch feel.... i was thinkin bout ordering one

Once you learn how to "float" the clutch you'll have it. I would say start off slow...the burns out will come with pratice. Take to a big empty lot. After about 3 months of playing around when I got my first manual I was able to smoke the tires in reverse and not kill it on steep hills.

Driving a manual can't really be shown...I've tried...it's all about time and learning your clutch and shifting points. If you hit the gears and rpms right you can shift without the clutch...I don't know about the newer trannys if you can do that but yeah it can be done.

I have the spring but have not put it in yet. I've gotten used to the current clutch which takes time because it is a little trickier than other clutches I've had.

^^ agreed. it seems like when the clutch pedal feels like your grabbing and when the pressure plate actually grabs are 2 different points
