I was looking at the first weekend in May...

Mai-z 03-10-2013 09:23 PM

I'll be out of town that weekend.

SmoothZ 03-12-2013 06:28 PM

Well, I started a thread on another Z site and got a restaurant owner who has a Nismo or a vert to host the party. He's also going to make reservations at Schell's brewery for us.

All I need to do now is give him a good number of folks, a good date, and then we can plan on a good time. I asked him to also think of a good location for a group photo.

I'll start a new thread in this section just for the Spring cruise.

homeryansta 03-12-2013 07:06 PM

I'm down. Would 350 owners be allowed? I have a buddy with a turbo 350.

SmoothZ 03-13-2013 06:50 AM

Yes, everyone that has a Z is allowed. Even if you have a friend with some kind of favorite car they want to drive and show off.

ezred 03-13-2013 08:44 AM

Sounds good :tiphat: Are you sure you ment Shells? It's in New Ulm, and Lineis is in Chippewa Falls WI...

SmoothZ 03-14-2013 09:56 PM

Yes, I changed it up to mean Schells. There's a guy who owns a restaurant in New Ulm, and he's offered his place up for a party. He's also going to arrange the tour, supposedly free of charge for us. He told me he was going to hook us up with decent food, drinks, and prices.

Old grumpy winter refuses to go away. March is usually the month where winter decides to end or try to fight til April.
There was one year that it snowed in late April. I guess that wasn't a global warming year. :p

Like Smoothz mentioned, last year was an almost snowless year with warm temps up to December and an early summer in March! :icon17:

SmoothZ 03-25-2013 07:33 PM

I'm hoping this is the upswing in the season. Spring needs to be here right now!

homeryansta 03-25-2013 07:34 PM

I'm throwing full coverage insurance back on the Z on the 29th. Hopefully it is warm by then.

SmoothZ 03-25-2013 07:37 PM

What's warm? lol

My wife asked me this past weekend when I planned on going full coverage again. I told her towards the end of April. I'm just looking forward to driving my beautiful, white Z anywhere there's melting snow and overspray.

Mai-z 04-12-2013 12:01 PM

Anyone around looking for a set of base wheels? They're a bit rough, but it looks like I'll have a set available in the next few weeks.

SmoothZ 04-12-2013 07:46 PM

What are you replacing them with?

Figures that as soon as I put full coverage on the Z, this weather goes crazy. I'm not driving my car when there's overspray everywhere.

Mai-z 04-13-2013 03:43 AM

Kidding... 40th ann rays.

SmoothZ 04-13-2013 09:56 AM

Mmm... I like those wheels.

And damn, go to bed already! lol

cgust 04-13-2013 12:15 PM

Hey fellow Minnesotan Z owners! I'm looking to get my Swift springs installed somewhere near the Twin Cities. Can anyone recommend a shop? I found a small "mom and pop" one down in Shakopee that will install for $325. I thought that seemed reasonable compared to the other places I've talked to. But was hoping someone else might be able to chime in for more options. Thanks!

Haha. I was quite inebriated. Woke up at 8am and coached a regional champion! Attachment 66865

That's too expensive. There's DB Performance in the NW suburbs (Rogers area?). There's also Full Blown down in Apple Valley.

If you can do it yourself, go to the DIY shop in Eden Prairie. I forget the name, but I can find it for you if you're interested in doing it yourself.

Thanks for the advice! I'll call them first thing tomorrow morning. I know the place your talking about in EP but can't think of the name either. I tried calling there last week though and no one ever answered. I'll give them a shot again.

cgust 04-17-2013 07:08 PM

Well those shops previously mentioned wanted over $500. I decided to go to the "mom and pop" place in Shakopee (Ark Automotive). I'd highly recommend them. Matt, I believe the owner, is a very knowledgeable. Just a heads up for any of you in the southern metro looking for a shop. Loving the Swifts too! :tiphat:

Ha maybe tomorrow after this snow storm passes. Supposed to get my new wheels/tires installed tomorrow afternoon as well. Not certain I want to follow through with that if the roads are still bad though.

Mai-z 04-18-2013 02:30 PM

wurd. This trip next week doesn't look too plausible.

cgust 04-21-2013 05:16 PM

Well I had my wheels put on yesterday! Here is a shot I took today just as the rain was starting to come down.

Mai-z 04-21-2013 05:30 PM

Those look sick! I always wanted to see these wheels on a 370. I seriously contemplated buying them when they were FS in the marketplace... I'm glad you did it! My car goes to the body shop next week to put on my front lip and Add-on spoiler. Then I'll post pics after I get my wheels on.

Mai-z 04-21-2013 05:31 PM

What are you lowered on and how much?

edit: NVM  did you need camber arms and toe bolts?

cgust 04-21-2013 05:48 PM

I had Swift springs installed. Just the right amount of drop for me. Here are two more shots. The rain makes my black cherry look almost black so I tried a black and white conversion..

Sorry. Still didn't answer your question ha. No I didn't need any camber arms. I'm just out of the factory range. And no toe bolts needed either.

Do you have a scan of the alignment specs?

cgust 04-21-2013 06:24 PM

I don't have a scan but its:

Camber front
Left -1.1
Right -1.4
Factory range 0.1 to -1.4

Camber rear
Left -2.4
Right -2.3
Factory range -1.2 to -2.2

Damn, those are nice wheels. Your pics are awesome.

I should look at the list for our summer event, but I don't remember if you added your name or were interested in a field trip to Schell's Brewery.

cgust 04-22-2013 09:32 PM

Thanks! And I am interested in the group ride. Once a date is confirmed I'll chime in on that thread if I'm able to make it.

SmoothZ 05-06-2013 08:25 PM

So anyone besides me going from MN to Zdayz this year?

Just got Kyra back from The body shop. Here are some iPhone pics of the work. Evo-r front lip, add-on spoiler, painted tail lights.

He used my paint code to paint the tail lights. You can see how he went full color around the edges of the light.

I R Jealous! Love those wheels. Those are my favorite stock wheels for the Z.

Mai-z 05-10-2013 10:08 AM

Thanks. So who wants to sell me and/or help me install springs!
