Also, I would say 85-90% of those that go with springs, kick themself for not going coils. The flexibility of lowering it juuuuust to where you want it is the key. Springs, you'll always find yourself 2nd glancing at your car thinking, "man i wish I could ...(adjust)"

Also you can adjust the dampening to your likes on most coils.

I run the koni yellow adjustable shocks with tein springs. They do the job but like others said can't adjust height but if you can find a hell of a deal on a new setup like I did with my konis then get it. Never buy used. Ill eventially go full coilover sometime but right now I'm happy with what I have. The setup I would get after this one is the tanabe sustec pro 7 with the teas

The Pro 7's are actually their older model, which they're just clearing inventory. They have been replaced by the PRO Z40's. We'll get you setup perfect when the time comes!!

Sleeping...

Sorry guys- didn't mean to sleep in this thread- and then just post when I need something... ;-)

I have a little problem that I am hoping you MN guys might be able to help assist with. I've got all the Seibon carbon on my Z that one could put on- and I left it unpainted. A while ago, someone tried to break in and slim-jim the lock. Obviously they couldn't because they ended up breaking the window, but not before putting two large parallel cracks above the door handle in the carbon door.

Anyone of you MN guys know of a fiberglass shop that would attempt a cosmetic repair- sanding down the gel coat all the way to the cf, polishing it, and re-epoxying to fill it in as best possible?

Is this even remotely possible? Seibon sells the doors... in pairs.

Thanks!

(PS- and I'll be ready to meet up in the spring as well.)

Don't know any specific fiberglass shops but have you tried calling any local paint shops to see what they could do?

I have, but obviously haven't found the right one- most say "Oh... man... yeah, there's nothing you can do to fix that."

However, I have seen online that with a lot of meticulous care one can repair CF damage... its tedious and takes time- and won't look perfect- but better than big cracks.

I was just curious if anyone here new of a body shop specializing in restorations (or Corvettes, or other fiberglass body works).

Damn man, hate to hear about something like that happening, especially with quality parts.

Now, to know if you can actually repair it, how deep is the crack? Is the actual weave damaged or is it just the topcoat? The extent of the damage will determine if its repairable or not. IF the weave has damage, there's simply no way to repair it. You could still repair the topcoat so its still a minor flaw, just won't be as noticable.

Not many shops will even consider looking at it since its "custom work", but if there is a shop that will, I would recommend Automotive Concepts. I personally know some of the staff and they're definitely no joke.

Otherwise, Chad Raskovich is the man when it comes to restoration and detailing. "Rasky's Detailing" is what he goes by, but he's well known throughout the US and Canada for his work.

zFire 01-10-2014 08:12 AM

Thanks- appreciate the reply!

The crack hasn't affected the carbon fiber itself, much... its more just the gel coat on top of it. I am looking for a cosmetic repair- and I do understand it likely won't look perfect. But anything will look better than it does at this point.

Talked to my buddy. Take a few photos of the damage, and send it to Lance@NextLevelPerf.com and I'll find out if its repairable.

Any luck with finding a place to fix the crack?

Hey lance, for sure coils on the g37 fit perfectly on the z?

Not all. Which ones are you looking at? Keep in mind some spring rates are different as well because of the difference in weight between the G and Z.

mnz 01-16-2014 09:52 PM

Looking at Tevis set.

His SSP's? Are you going to track or roadcourse at all? You'll want to pay attention to the spring rates between the SSP's and the Flex when looking into Tein coils. Quite a bit of difference.

Goes BASIC<SSP<FLEX<MONOFLEX

I was thinking about going with Powertrix coils or KW's. And also anyone get there headlights done by anyone? Was going to ship mine off to Oneighty in NY or GY custom lighting in cali, I want: Gloss black housing
Gloss black amber reflector
Gloss black turn signal shroud
Pearl white projector shroud
Single Orb LED ring
STI-R projector lenses
TOTAL: $750 + shipping

Oneighty wants $750 for this but gy wants $350 not sure where all the extra money is gettingyou with oneighty, any insight on this?

ONEighty 100% is worth every penny. Ask for Alex and tell him Lance from the MYG37 forum sent you(1cleanG), he might give you a discount. I've had my G37 headlights as well as my G35 done, were PERFECT. I'll be sending my Z headlights to them probably next fall.

As for coils, you just can't go wrong with KW V3's. I personally ran them on my G37, and now have them on my Nismo. LOVE the ride quality and dampening settings.

PM'd ya

rlhotka 01-21-2014 09:54 PM

But thats twice the price of the other guy who's known on here also.

You wanted feedback...and you got it. No buts about it...

I'll tell you this, I've never even heard of "GY lighting". Only 2 people I would trust my headlights to is ONEighty, and Raul who goes by "RAUL G CUSTOMS". Both of them do any and all from Z's/G's up to GTRs/Lambos

silverbulletZ 01-22-2014 05:17 PM

You pay what you get for and in the car world its the biggest piece of truth out there.

mnz 01-23-2014 08:47 PM

One of my buddy's just got this g37 headlights done, and i can tell you it was a Very well done job, and looks real nice to! Oneighty is the only place i would send my headlights to, which i am in next fall.

yeeeah, Zane went all out too ordering pretty much LED option they offer. Very sick work, and they warranty up to 12 months against condensation. No one else is willing to do that....

That's what it seems like. Some have said its because of the buses and them not starting? So has our bus technology gotten worse the last 20 years?

I have a feeling its more around law suits and kids being outside too long without their parents dressing them appropriately. Society now days...
