Couple thoughts...

check plug/connection of cam sensor (corrosion?).
Does the 350 have a serviceable/removable fuel pump relay?
Get to the top of the fuel pump and tap on it while the car is idling and see if that causes it to misfire?

ya read both your suggestions elsewhere, valid points tho

ima do thorough check of everything tonight, hopefully that wire tuck isnt coming back to haunt me. side not, just went on long drive again with no problem

she's 10 year old car with 145k on her now, so could be anything at this point.

JacksonZ33 10-18-2012 09:56 AM

did it again, first major stop light i hit on the way to work

about 2 minutes in, not fully warmed up, but off the bottom

struggled for 45 secs before she died.

turned over 3-4 times before it started

if i give it a lil gas (push it up to 1k rpms) can keep it running.
but sometimes that just kills it immediately.

no drop on the power gauge or oil pressure while dying

sounds exactly what my volvo did when the MAF went to sh*t

I think we need to get together one last time before winter sets in and have to park the Z for good.

nuki for the muthafukin win!!!

simple ecu reset and letting sit unplugged for 12 hours. no problems this morning. fingers crossed it's fixed

grrrrr.... soo easy, should have done it first, live & learn:driving:

Nuki 10-22-2012 10:16 AM

LOL I hope thats it and you're good now.

:tiphat:

JacksonZ33 10-22-2012 10:36 AM

so the longer I left it sit the more likey it would be to screw up. leave it more than say 6-8 hours would die at the first stop light I came to after warmed up.

sat at my house since friday, did reset, and drove perfectly this morning.

:happydance:

take it to nissan man. there diagnostics equipment can watch voltages drop when it starts acting up. a diagnostic would be cheaper than just replacing stuff

im at that point now, trust me.

kinda wanna see if I have hand scanner (old teacher has one) plugged in as it dying if it shows anything.

otherwise, I gotta drop it off at night, and tell them to let it sit overnight, then hope it acts up.

also, check to see if buying a new 370z would resolve your issue
