The cops weren't after you guys, some idiot ran over a pedestrian on I-35 about 5:30 or so. It was crazy, the scanner was going nuts over it. I had to work so I couldn't make it. On a side note, I solved part of my 'can't go to meets' issue... removed the gf.... :rofl2:

The estimate will be taking place tomorrow. I'm hoping it's super expensive because the guy who hit me is a complete douche anyways.

$7500 + rental as of right now. They expect it to grow as they pull the damaged parts off the car.:shakes head:

Don't forget diminished value after they get the car fixed.

I was told that will have to be taken up in small claims court because the insurance company does not get involved in decreased value due to accidents reported on the vehicle.:shakes head:

Very true, they don't. Is the person who hit you not responsible for paying for the damages? I'd think if you're having to pay for it you might as well just do the job in a small shop without insurance and keep the accident off your insurance record. More money up front, but less diminished value.

I doubt he could even float half of what it's going to cost. He's more than happy to let the insurance handle the issue. I know he doesn't know that I will more than likely hit him for the dip in value. If anything I will use that (if he pays) to upgrade the car.

you DD your GTR right? How many miles do you have on it? There's a guy at my work who has a white one and DDs his as well. He flips through cars quite a bit apparently, but he's been on the GTR for three years.

I wish I could use as a DD but I only take it out about 4-5 times a month. This just happened to one of those times. Now, when I do take it out, I drive a lot. I have put close to 28k miles on it in the last 1 1/2 years. It's been to Austin/Dallas and all over Missouri.:driving:

28k in that time frame? dang man, that's definitely quite a few miles! Sucks the guy hit you though. I wonder if he looked at it after and thought "crap this is gonna cost a lot"

He was actually crying after he hit my car and was screaming he was sorry. We were all laughing at him for the crying part. I was laughing for the fact he hit my car over a $5 screwdriver. What do you do.
