As many of you know I am involved with the Sports Car Club of America Road Rally Program. It's pretty simple. You are given step by step, turn by turn directions to get from point A to point B. This is very "low stress" on your cars as you will be driving the posted speed limits and the routes are on paved roads. The Saturday and Sunday Rallys are 2 separate events. You do not need to do both and you do NOT have to be a SCCA member BUT you must have a navigator. You do not have to have a "sports car"...drive a minivan if you want. This is a great family event. Hope to see you there!

Don't know. Just got finished in STL so I heard Oklahoma but not sure. The car will be gone within the next month or so :happydance:. My guess is I will not get it back until sometime around February.

Re. the SCCA road rallys, no special high tech equipment is needed. Besides a navigator you need a road worthy car with an accurate odometer. My personal experience is that a clipboard/writing tablet, pen, and stopwatch come in handy.

PSA:

Don't take cloverleafs off the highway as hard as u can with under 1/4 tank. u will become stranded.

that is all

ps, thanks Austin for the help

Yeah and the solution isn't cheap. Have to convert the car to a return style fuel system and add a surge tank. About a grand in total.

URGENT UPDATE!!! It has just come to my attention that Sunday's Rally is on unpaved roads!

(I guess I know what car I'll be driving Sunday!)

If my wife's schedule works out, I'll be doing the Saturday one.

Maybe the funnest Rally I've done was on unpaved (gravel) roads in the rain. My DD at the time was a Dodge Charger with AWD and, boy, did that come in handy. My car was a mess afterwards but, man, did we have fun!!

I read that the almost half of Saturday's spots are spoken for. Also, if you're considering bringing your under 18 yo kids, a waiver is required.

To register, just email Rich Bireta and tell him. You won't pay until you get there.

Any idea how long this will last on Saturday? I have to be headed out of town by 8p or so.

I believe about 4 pm BUT be sure to notice the finish line is in Council Grove, KS. C.G. is south and west of Topeka. According to google maps it about 2 hours from Kansas City.
