Yeah I went from "OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT WHERE IS MY PASSPORT OH GOD I NEED TO PACK WHERE IS MY HOTEL I DON'T SPEAK FUCKINGJAPANESE" to
"ok this is going to be mildly inconvenient" I wouldn't have had time to do anything fun anyway except possibly eat amazing sushi. The flights I had picked out were $2537 each way. One from Dulles to O'Hare (I f'ing hate ohare) and then straight to Tokyo: 14 hrs and the one back was through San Fran. 14 hours on a goddamn plane - touch down at 1:30pm monday Japan-time then prep for a conference tues-thurs only to fly home thurs night. No thanks. My brain would have been pudding.
