Atlanta - World of Coca Cola  **Edit: It would be about an hour out of the way from Atl, but if you can fit it in (so to speak) the Stone Mountain Laser Show is definitely worth it.

Arizona - Arizona Meteor Crater, Flagstaff/Sedona (GREAT driving roads, and scenery) **Edit x2: When driving from Vegas to Grand Canyon/Flagstaff, most likely will be driving down 93. Straight, flat 2 lane state highway, very minimally patrolled outside of towns. Good spot to "open her up" a little.

i like the looks of the routes between Flagstaff and Sedona..

i'm a bit worried about the long flat stretches back into Oklahoma...

You will be amazed at the fact of how flat it is and how you can see for MILES in 360*. But after 30 mins or so of it, it gets old. It will be much better in all seriousness if there is a storm... I drove through a really good one while driving through OK city, and had the lightning flashing everywhere lighting up the windmills... Was pretty epic, I have a video of it on my other comp. Pretty awesome. Other then that, the roads don't have reflectors and they don't use reflective paint for the stripes, so do that bit in the daytime.

RandyD 12-23-2012 08:30 PM

WhiskeyHotel 12-23-2012 08:45 PM

Epic? That's Lewis and Clark territory there. ;)

Rui Z 12-23-2012 09:12 PM

Take a detour and go through Big Sur unless you've driven on it before

chieuxuan 12-23-2012 09:13 PM

Love your route Randy, mostly back roads. While you are on I10, why not drive for another 1.5 hr from I15 so you can visit LA too? US101 is beautiful also.

eastwest2300 12-23-2012 09:35 PM

Are you serious, bro?? :facepalm::facepalm:

aniceh 12-25-2012 01:05 PM

That does indeed sound epic!

shadoquad 12-25-2012 02:32 PM

Dude, this looks awesome. I eventually want to do something like this. I want to take 2-3 weeks off of work and drive from Ocean City, MD, to Sacramento, CA, all along Rte. 50, "The Loneliest Road in America".

eastwest2300 12-25-2012 02:50 PM

Im gonna have to pass on that... I'd much rather fly. lol..

Z-Girl 12 12-25-2012 02:52 PM

Looks so fun!

GrandZ45 12-25-2012 04:11 PM

If time isn't a problem: Consider the Blue Ridge Parkway, then cut over from Bryson City to 28 and then 129 to pass by Fontana Lake. Come through Chattanooga, see the Lookout Mountain battlefield and other sights there. Then come south through Alabama.

GrandZ45 12-25-2012 04:18 PM

If you must go through Mobile, consider cutting over to go to the Pensacola Naval Air Museum. Can get a bit of beach time while you are there. The Mississippi Gulf Coast as seen from I-10 is not interesting and the beach there is far inferior to that in Pensacola or even Gulf Shores, Alabama but there are casinos. If you are a Forest Gump fan you might want to spin down through Bayou LaBatre south of Mobile. Lots of good food in Baton Rouge!

4r3s 12-27-2012 09:06 AM

You should consider driving further north on your return and hit up the bad lands. When are you planning on going on this trip Randy?

eastwest2300 12-27-2012 09:36 AM

Randy will drive on EVERY road in the United States...:roflpuke2::roflpuke2:

Sales@AAMComp 12-27-2012 10:59 AM

eastwest2300 12-27-2012 11:12 AM

Im down for a road trip every now and then, but this particular one is just crazy.

takjak2 12-27-2012 12:44 PM

Are you planning a stop in Kentucky or West Virginia on the return trip? If not I'd be tempted to make your return trip through 129, tail of the dragon, and back up Blue-ridge,

SouthArk370Z 12-27-2012 01:52 PM

I'd have to travel at least a few miles on the old Route 66.

Too bad they closed "Wally World" (or "America's Favorite Family Fun Park") after the Griswolds had their little "incident" otherwise that would be a good place to unwind.

Seriously, it sounds like it will be an "epic" road trip. I'd be up for a drive like that; but the wife, not so much :eekdance:. She prefers the luxury of getting there in a few hours; not weeks. I'd be like :driving: and would have the time of my life.

Good luck with your plans and keep us posted...

eastwest2300 12-27-2012 02:08 PM

I totally love the videos..thanks for posting.

MightyBobo 12-27-2012 05:56 PM
