Long trip + early departure + non-existant income + high gas prices + shitty tires = couldn't make it. Oh well, there will be another. :ugh2:

I guarantee my friends tires on his GTI are worse than yours...they're about as bad as Shahid's all-seasons were...

Actually, I think they ARE all-seasons...

The rest are valid reasons to shy away.

It was a great trip man. Although we did cut a chunk off at the end, due to the entire group being STARVING.

Some things we did that we should think about incorporating into our cruises:

1. Brief stops after many of the good sections until all people are caught up
2. 2-way radios between front and rear cars to know when everyone is caught up (we actually forgot these, but it'd help significantly if a group is large...)
3. At stops, passengers were given the option to hop in other peoples cars if they'd like and see how they feel - I really liked this idea for the sight-seers. Granted, many of us would be in Z's, but in THIS Group, it the car makes/models varied greatly.
4. A short safety briefing at the beginning to remind and warn people of what to expect, and what to NOT do (bunch up, for instance, before a giant tree limb appears after a corner :-p)

Oh, also - we made a facebook page for a cruise group. We were going to use that as a coordinating point to get people to come rather than use Forum posts on many different forums. Everyone is welcome, of course.

The trip was a fun one... hopefully it will become a somewhat regular event. It really made me appreciate my new setup.

@ RandyD... wanna thank you for scoping out those roads. Everyone enjoyed them. Was worth the drive out to fairfax.

@ b1adesofcha0s... im sure it'll happen again. I almost slept past it myself. My dog managed to wake me up in time tho lol

@ XwChriswX... im sure your car would have been fine. Tires are important but untill you really learn to push the car to the limit, i dont think they are as much a factor. plus there are limits on public roads anyway.

Bring the route farther north, and I'd be more available to attend.
