I just seen your post... I just got done installing this damn RJM clutch pedal

Voice59 10-26-2014 06:56 PM

Do you like the RJM? I'm getting it put in mine.

Running4Mayor 10-26-2014 07:18 PM

The install was shitty but the pedal is firm and the shifts are smooth! I like it so far... im going to configure it better tomorrow

Voice59 10-26-2014 07:58 PM

Yeah I can't wait.... Nov. 1st it goes up to Maryland.

Is it affecting the SRM like it did on Mike's?

To elaborate on what John is talking about; first off, I'm not having a negative effect on the SRM with my RJM pedal. The SRM on my car just acts a little different. The more you get used to the RJM pedal you'll notice that you don't need to push the clutch pedal all the way in to fully disengage the clutch due to the improve feel of the RJM pedal over the OEM pedal. For me I push in my clutch pedal about 1/2 (ruff estimate) of the way during shifting. The only time I push my pedal all the way in is on start up. Since I don't push it all the way in, I never activate the clutch pedal sensor when shifting. This causes the SRM not to "pre-rev" during shifting. What I mean by "pre-rev" is when you down shift from 3/4 to 1/2 the SRM revs up for a 2nd gear match while in left neutral position. You'll activate the "pre-rev" when you wiggle the shifter in the neutral position with the clutch pedal all the way in while rolling to a stop at a light. The good thing is the SRM doesn't need to "pre-rev" to operate correctly. As soon as the shifter starts to moves into a gear it rev matches. SRM is still faster than my shifting (I’m not a slow shifter) so I'm not experiencing any negative effects from not activating the clutch pedal sensor while shifting. It is just interesting observation.

Running4Mayor 10-27-2014 01:32 AM

I don't have SRM on my car... Base models don't have that function.

Unless you have the 7AT. All autos have DRM. :p

It's going to Hill's Garage for a supercharger install and tune, among other things.

I wouldnt mind trading wheels, but it depends on how much cash money you are looking to get . Im pretty broke atm, but I finally got the house fixed up and everything done so I should be able to save some cash here shortly. Text me as im rarely ever on here anymore haha :happydance:

I'll let you know. I have a guy that wants to buy the car as is. If that falls through I'll be thinking more seriously about parting it out.

Or maybe after I do Roebling road this weekend I'll be convinced not to sell the car. :driving::tup:

Nah I'm keeping whatever was "leather" the same. The car is in Maryland now. Probably for 3 weeks to a month depending on issues.

Lmao. True, that's why I would trade it in.

Just randomly thought of this. I know you sort of wanted a manual with sports package. We could trade and it would save me the hassle of converting my car back to stock, then I could trade yours in to the dealer.

Yours is an '11 right?

I don't know how complicated it would be though, I still have a lien on mine, chances are you might as well...... lol

Mine is a '12. and if I stick with a Z it'll be a touring/sport/nav option. Or the new Nismo. Dunno. I'm more likely to buy a Porsche at this point.

wolfesquire 11-06-2014 08:00 PM

Anyone have a suggestion to clean the sports seats? The middle parts are tarnished from me being an idiot and wearing jeans that i forgot to wash first

The sueded areas? Goodluck. Might be best to use cool water with a small amount of detergent and a bristle brush. I say cool water because if that doesn't work you won't set it permanently. Avoid hot water. Counter-intuitive. Google could help you here.

So my TPMS alert went off. Checked my tire, had a 4 in nail in it. Yeah 4 inches. Didn't go flat so took my Z home. Ordered a replacement from tirerack.com. Got my tire within 24 hours and 200 bucks off. Awesome. Took my tire up to Nissan Greenbrier. Never been there before and thought it would be a safe bet since I'd never had a car with TPMS and didn't want to risk a discount place messing something up with my TPMS or scratching my rim. So I went to the dealership and the service manager was amazed I had a NISMO. (Confirms I should continue to do business else where so my Z doesn't get ridden for a joy ride). But I will say I appreciated his honesty because I told him my concern about getting a scratch or chip on my rim and he recommended I go to a pro rim shop who has more advanced equipment that will not scratch the face of the rim. The certified tech came out and confirmed the manager's thoughts. The tech also said he had a 240 and runs a speed shop in Chesapeake called Trust Auto 757-406-1600 (Brandon). Nice guy.

So I'm going to try Professional Rim Repair Monday. Think a couple of you guys have used them before. Thoughts?

Also:
Does the Z come stock with nitrogen in the wheels? Anyway you can tell?
Is there anything I should know about TPMS?

Voice59 11-08-2014 04:43 PM

Mine didn't have nitrogen in the tires but I got it used. It doesn't cost much to get nitrogen, and the set up I have makes it so anytime I need nitrogen I take it to the dealer and it's free of charge.

Tigger 11-08-2014 05:20 PM

He has a good deal going for him there. Typically dealers charge $200 for that. Yeah. $200!!!!

You can tell if there are green caps on the valve stems. If not, no nitro.

Voice59 11-08-2014 05:32 PM

Mine just have a different valve cover that says Nitroair or some crap like that. And I carry the memo or whatever it is they gave me in my glove box just in case I need more nitrogen down the line.

I took my tire up to Professional Rim Repair in Chesapeake to have the new tire put on. I told them 3 times that I'm very particular about my things and I didn't want my rim scratched. They were able to get it on the rim without scratching it, but where they took off the old weights, I noticed they scratched the inside of the rim and its visible from the outside. The guy was super nice about it and is going to paint it. So I won't be driving my Z this week. :shakes head:
