I only use Hall Nissan for work I can't do myself. Not to say the others are bad. Hall treated me right the first time and continue to do so every time I see them. They did some electrical work for me on my 2009 Z and figured out a way to claim it under my warranty where the work was actually debatable. Hall regularly has other Zs and GTRs there so I feel like there is less risk to my car. Use Rick Watson as your service advisor. That guy should be getting paid more cause he's awesome. He seems to always find a discount for me.

I've been to Greenbrier Nissan (think it may be called Nissan of Chesapeake) only to pick up parts. The folks there were nice enough, but they have WAY too many cars on the lots and I always picture my Z getting door dinged by other customers or in a fender bender with new cars as the tech takes my car back. Overall, this Nissan isn't as welcoming to me with the looks and the little bit of service I've seen.

Kai, what dealership was it that was rev'ving ur car?

Uhh I'm pretty sure it was in Chesapeake. Don't remember

Thanks guys. My car is grinding sometimes going into 6th but all other gears are fine. I took it to Hampton and they said its normal but I think not. When it does grind it sounds bad. I still have plenty of time left on the power train warranty but I'm trying to decide if I should wait and see if it gets worse or go to another dealer.

Merry Christmas

Another dealer. Worst thing they say is they don't see anything wrong. Best thing that happens they find the issue and it's covered.

I would try Hall Nissan - use Ron Watson as your service advisor.

What you been up to lately man?

Darketch 12-31-2015 08:49 PM

Not much - Workin, workin, workin. When I'm off, I'm doing kid sports or "honey-dos". Wouldn't have it any other way though.

Probably going to have a quaife differential for sale (new) and a MXP exhaust for sale (used) here pretty soon. If anyone is interested at all. Let me know.

Friend of mine who has a Z said he cranked his car the other morning backed out and the service engine light came on. Just a week before he had an oil change (from Royal Purple back to Nissan ester). It was cold outside. Any ideas?

Darketch 01-08-2016 08:19 PM

He also said acceleration is sometimes sluggish in second gear. Think it's a misfire?

Voice59 01-08-2016 08:39 PM

Did he let the oil temp or engine temp get to a decent temperature before trying to roll out? Especially if it was 28 degrees or so outside and he tried to gun it almost immediately. Also does he have an aftermarket intake and is acceleration sluggish randomly, or right when he does a cold start on a cold day?

Darketch 01-09-2016 06:55 AM

He does park outside and he did say that he didn't let it warm up like he usually does cause he was late for work. That could be it.

He suppose to get it checked out and tell me or post to the forum what the problem was.

Voice59 01-09-2016 02:50 PM

Oh ok. Fingers crossed nothing serious...

So shameless plug. Found out the wife is pregnant. We have a rat rod we are building now and there is no call for 2 toys. Looking to sell or trade for a STI/EVO or perhaps a full size truck.

In the meantime if your local and want a particular part id be more than willing to do the swap. I would need stock parts in return tho. Bright side is i have a full garage and can do all the work myself.

Send me a PM and we can work something out if your interested. I have a set of nearly new Nismo suspension i could swap the Tein out for or if you have base id sell the nismo and the teins and swap one or the other for the base.
