Sounds good to me. My car needs a wash badly.

Tigger 03-27-2014 04:59 PM

Everyone still heading out?! I'll be leaving around 6:30.

wolfesquire 03-27-2014 06:02 PM

Yeah I just got here. I parked more in the SAMs Club parking as their is more room.

wolfesquire 03-28-2014 08:15 PM

Pulled the trigger and bought an R2C Intake as well as scheduled for window tinting next week. How does an oil cooler usually run?

Depending on the options, from about $400-700 without installation.

There are cheaper ones out there but they are too small IMO. I would go with at least a 19 row but would recommend a 25 row if you plan on tracking your Z. The big thing is to get an oil cooler with a thermostatic plate. With out one you'll over cool your oil during the colder months in our area. I would go with Z1 Motorsports or Stillen. Z1 has more options but Stillen has the cheapest kit and Stillen's kits all come with thermostatic plates. Also not all oil coolers are equal. For instance Stillen's 25 row Setrab cooler is 14.1" wide, Z1's is 13". and Stillen's Gold Series is 11.25". For 19 row coolers Stillen Setrab is 11.25", Z1's is 13" and Stillen Gold Series is 11.25". So keep cooler width in mind.

Cooler width might play apart in the difference between me and Mike's experiences. I'm running Stillen's Setrab Race kit which is a 14.1" wide 25 row not a 34 row like I said the other night (it was installed 3 years ago so I had forgotten the exact specs :icon14:). I think Mike is running the Z1 13" wide 25 row. You would think 1" wouldn't make a difference.....:icon17:

With Stillen's Setrab Race kit (25 row) I have had no cooling issues on the track and roads like the Tail of the Dragon. The only issue I have with it is, even with the thermostatic plate, I get a little over cooling in the winter months. When temps are in the 30s or 40s my oil temp has a hard time getting over 160 under "normal" driving. That's why I like the Stillen kit because it mounts on the passenger side of the front grill. Most other kits including Z1 mount on the driver's side. With it on the passenger's side when it gets cold I put my front license plate on. My front plate is on a tow hook mount and when installed it limits the flow of air on the passenger side of the grill solving my issue.

FYI... SC kit finally arrived minus a couple things. Flash cable and a couple pipes which will me shipped at a later date.

Are you having it installed while you're gone?

Yeah I have the 25 row Z1 kit. Works great for me, but maybe I could stand to upgrade seeing as my temps were reaching 230ish at Road Atlanta. (Which still isn't horrible)

Yeah, that's the plan. There's a place in Maryland I wanted to take it, but I'm not sure Robin is going to be able to do that on her own. So...I'll probably have to find another place.

I might have a place for you.
Your sc kit is the GTM one right?
Will your kit need (or would like) to be dynoed/tuned or is it turn key?

230 isn't bad.
I normally run in the 220s
I would upgrade if I was consistently over 260 or going into limp mode.

It's the turn key but I still want it to be tuned. I have other things being installed as well. HFC's, headers, clutch/flywheel, coilovers, gauges, etc. Who or where is the place that you're talking about? Is it the guy in your car club?

So who's free next weekend??? (April 10-13)

I literally had 3 people back out on me for Tail of the Dragon when I already had a cabin reserved and if I cancel I lose my deposit which isn't cool at all.

I know one (or more?) of you guys would love to go..........

Aww man this is depressing, im still in Japan :(

Tigger 04-03-2014 06:58 AM

I didn't know it was this early. Thought it was late April /early May. I would have loved to go but no diff... no dragon. And the charity event like I told you about already.

If it wasn't for that and if I had been lucky enough to swap my Z yesterday I would have dropped a leave request and been right there with ya. (which really almost happened but someone beat me to it. It was a White 2012 N/S/T with 15k miles :yum:)

I will be down to the 757 this weekend, but not in my Z. Planning on autocross Sunday but don't yet know what car. Anyone want to share a Z? I'd drive anything really.

wolfesquire 04-04-2014 05:08 AM

Just had Atlantic Audio install 35% all around window tint (still looks pretty much light though) and put in the R2C Intake. Optimistically going to hold off on buying more for the car, but you know how that goes...

I'd love to go, but I got deployed. Won't be back until the end of the summer.:shakes head:

wolfesquire 04-05-2014 10:36 PM

I just got off work and head back in at 10am or I would, sorry. Anyone planning to go to Cars and Coffee on the 19th?

NotaZee 04-06-2014 08:14 PM

Where is the Cars & Coffee on the 19th? is that Williamsburg?

wolfesquire 04-06-2014 09:33 PM

Yep it is in Williamsburg, I think at 8am

Onelownismo 04-08-2014 10:25 AM

:hello:

I'm still going to Tail of the dragon. Staying with a friend for free. :driving:

wolfesquire 04-08-2014 07:51 PM

Just made the down payment on a Fast Intentions exhaust. Won't be here until mid July though....

Tigger 04-08-2014 07:53 PM

I'll be available to roll up to Williamsburg on the 19th. That is a nice one to go to as a group so we can park together like we have before. Meet in the Target parking lot off of Mercury Blvd in Hampton @ 0715. We leave by 0720.

If you need my #, pm me. I will check back here the evening before and the morning of before I leave the house. If there aren't any definitive yes answers I won't stop in Hampton. Let me know!
