Cool man. Let us know the results. After doing my own research I might do the same thing. I might have to buy a bare computer with Windows since I live in a Apple household :roflpuke2:

We should get together

bkngo 04-10-2015 09:54 PM

Voice59 04-11-2015 01:32 AM

Just let me know

I’m an Apple guy too.

Tablets with Windows 8.1 can run UpRev.

Plan on getting a Dell Venue 11 Pro for data logging and tuning.
It has a full size USB port so no silly adaptors.

There are other tablet options out there.
You could pick up a refurbished one for a couple hundred.

Linux has been around forever. Don't know why they don't have compatible software yet. Lots of Mac users out there. I hate the idea of having to buy a damn computer on top of the tuning software just to make it work.

IKR! :shakes head:

I was planning on running UpRev via my windows 7 virtual machine on my MacBook but a windows tablet would be handier than my 17" MacBook Pro. Especially considering you can get one for a few hundred.

Also I have another use for a windows tablet. I want a tablet I can watch a movie or tv show on it with having to spend time converting and syncing the file like I have to do with my iPad. I love my iPad Mini but when you start sharing media on a ship (my Navy brethren know what I’m talking about ;) ) it is a PITA.

Yeah man. Been there with that **** before. Sucks. I actually had two windows based laptops while I was in the navy. Both broke inside of a year. Bought my MacBook Pro in 2011 and it still works just fine. I'll take the PITA approach and having reliability over any windows based pile of ****. Not trying to make this a Mac vs PC debate. Just saying that, well, Mac is definitely better. Lol! ;)

Whaaaa? who? No one cleared this little event with me! :rofl2:

I see it's pretty nice weather there today. Wish I wasn't stuck in NM. :ugh2:

Running4Mayor 04-11-2015 03:39 PM

I agree with everyone. I bought my MacBook Pro for deployment back in 2011 and haven't had one problem. I'll check the tablets out tomorrow. It'll be just enough to run the program smoothly.

Kai, it's tomorrow... I'm heading over to Ngo house around 1 with a case of Blue Moons. You coming?

Voice59 04-11-2015 03:59 PM

Yeah

bkngo 04-11-2015 07:37 PM

Cool... Tim just text Kai my address and number... See ya tomorrow!

bkngo 04-11-2015 10:22 PM

I wasn't able to get my dyno yesterday... Maybe next week...

I think my wife gave me the go ahead to purchase the Zele body kit... we were talking about it over dinner... she likes the Zele better than the Amuse or Stillen body kits. She said I can get it if she can trade her 2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0T premium for a 2016 Genesis Coupe V6 twin turbo or V8... and I said sure...

So, that's a yes right? lol...
