Do you know which events? I'm going to try and go to most of the NASA events next year. I know they do one in February at VIR usually. Might try for that if I don't have to work.

Not yet. Waiting until I know when I'll be coming back. How ever I will say this, I will not be going to any NASA sponsored events. All of my track buddies have warned me not even think about NASA. They said their safety is a joke and you are just a $ to them. When I have an idea of which events I'm considering I'll let you know.

If and when I do get a set of rims for track use, initially my track rims will bum a ride on my friend’s trailer. Looking into eventually getting a small trailer for the track that my Z could pull. It would be handy for other things too. I don't have the room for a SUV/Truck and full sized trailer. Tire wise I would get Yokohama Advan AD048 for starters. They're street legal so I could drive on them to an event if needed.

Sorry.
Holding on to all of my rims, including my stock rims, for now.
I use my stock rims for my "winter" tires.

It's all good. I just got new tires a couple months back so I'm in no rush to get new wheels. I'm just leaving VA in dec so I was just testing the water thinking I might get lucky

Not sure who you've talked to man, I've been to 2 HPDE's with NASA and I thought it was great. The people were awesome, both my instructors were great and it was pretty well organized. I will be doing NASA next year but I am also open to the idea of other clubs.

Well I have heard that too. I have no dealings with them so I can not confirm anything. If it was just 1 or 2 people saying that I would take it as some one who had a one time bad experience. Considering the number of times I've heard bad things and the sources make me very cautious of NASA events.

I never take one or two bad reviews as fact.

I'm curious what they meant when they said safety is a joke.

Mostly I hear that they run their HPDEs more like open track days.
Not enforcing passing rules.
Not dealing with aggressive/unsafe drivers.
Not dealing with people racing each other.
The strict structured rules are what make HPDEs a lot safer than open track days.

Yup. It was ****. :shakes head: We were there for about 40 minutes. Long enough to meet a couple of other guys there and then I was like, this is stupid, I'm out.
