Xp8 all around. I'm not changing to them until we actually go to an HPDE.

Dustin tells me the brake dust is ridiculous. He runs XP10's up front in his Z, but I want to start with something less aggressive.

Yeah after talking to Steve today I'm gonna go with XP8 all around since they are a bit more streetable than the XP10.

Its too easy to swap pads with the sport package - I'd prefer to keep my track pads off the street at all times, myself.

But to swap the pads, you need a tune right? :p

I wouldn't worry one bit about running xp8 all the time. In fact I'd prefer it to the HPS or standard Akebono. I want aggressive bite 24/7.

Not that kind of bite, Bobo.

:iagree:

The non-sport calipers make swapping pads a royal b*tch compared to the Akebonos.

When Kirk's Garage did my swap, I was pretty taken aback.

I believe on the non-sports, you actually have to remove the caliper to do it iirc.

Good 'ole floating caliper. The 5.0 uses those in the rear. Royal PITA to change pads because you have to use a special compressor tool that spins the piston as it compresses so you can fit the new pads.

Oh, I agree about XP8's - they're good enough on the street not to bug me. I more meant running my 10's in the front on the street. Oh, they bite hard, alright....they also get me dirty looks for how loud they squeal...

Still easy to do on a non-sport.

Boy you guys are really serious about this track stuff..

m4a1mustang 04-14-2012 09:45 PM

Anyone have any experience with the Corbeau FX1 line of seats? I am thinking about buying either one or a pair for the 5.0 as a temporary seat until the leather Recaros are available on the aftermarket (and I am willing to dish out $3k for them).
