Or straight up asked him, "Have you ever 'Steve'd It'?? No? Didn't think so. I have."

b1adesofcha0s 01-11-2013 10:44 AM

I would have cared more if I actually was going to buy the car, but I wasn't. Didn't seem like he cared much about selling me the car either.

eastwest2300 01-11-2013 10:44 AM

hahaha... chris you coming out tomorrow?

I think the more pressing question is are you coming out tomorrow?

:icon17:

I will if others are going to show, and actually show when they say they are... :icon17: Not at 10:30 either :icon08:

eastwest2300 01-11-2013 10:47 AM

Im coming, I should be there by 1030, bright and early, it sounds like its gonna be a big turnout.

Cristobal09 01-11-2013 10:48 AM

Ive been in your shoes before.

Most recently at sheehy of manassas when I test drove the Z. I was in a tshirt and shorts with my old azz shoes. I looked like a bum (nothing new!). Before I even gave him my drivers license to test drive it, he goes "are you serious about buying this car?" he had this look like I was wasting his time.

I took my DL back, looked at him, "not anymore". He shook my hand and walked away.

I bought my Z two hours later down in Hoodbridge.

MyKindaGuise 01-11-2013 10:54 AM

its supposed to be 60 degrees saturday up here.

Nice, I woulda drove back to that dealership and asked him, I guess I wasnt too serious about buying this car.. what do you think?

eastwest2300 01-11-2013 10:55 AM

Dude, you know when I bought my Z, I didnt even test drive it, I saw the car online, and fell in love with it. Not very smart I guess.

XwChriswX 01-11-2013 10:56 AM

But yeah EW, aside from anything crazy happening, I should be making the trip down.

Masa 01-11-2013 10:57 AM

Nothing like that's ever happened to me before. They're usually begging me to go to a test drive, but it helps that I usually go with one of my parents just in case. The dealership I bought my Z from insisted I go on a test drive even during a blizzard. I told them I was fine without a test drive, but they made me do it anyway :icon17:

Did you at least drive it before signing the papers? I always do that at least to make sure there aren't any problems with it.

Nope, i didnt.. I went out, saw the car, and pointed. I want that one! and that was it. No applying for a loan, none of that. I was already approved through my credit union.

Im not one to be very confrontational. I wouldnt have bought from him anyways, I just wanted to test drive. I did make sure he saw me though and I said "how you doing?"

I dont think he recognized me though.

What Route are you taking down? You're probably farther east than me, so heading to Westminster would be out of your way, but that's the way I go since it's due south from me.

795S to 695S

I did the same thing, but just drove it before we started doing the paperwork for the purchase.

XwChriswX 01-11-2013 11:11 AM

I put money down on my Z before it even entered the country. :icon17:

My test drive of My car was the drive home. :icon17: Just like you EW with 6 mi on the od. They called me when the truck brought it in. I went in, signed the papers as they were pulling the travel paper off and washing it. Drove her home.

Next 3 weeks, had to drive a dirt/rock road to get to work 4x a day. FML

eastwest2300 01-11-2013 11:17 AM

Yeah, I was sooooo pissed. The road that went to my work (only 1 road to get there, (gotta love AF stupidity), was getting repaved. When they started, they cleared off the dirt Next to the road and bedded it down nicely. We all thought they were going to pave a temporary road while they chewed up and repaved our road. Nope, just brushed off the dirt, and said okay, drive on this. No 4wd? Sucks to be you.

I am very exited to see you all tomorrow :excited:

i dont care about the weather lol

a. my car is on "layup" insurance til march 15th

b. i'm not driving with all the salt and anti-skid all over the roads still lol

i'll just wait til spring and a good rain then the Z will be out :shakes head:

MightyBobo 01-11-2013 01:26 PM

Throwing a new clamp onto my coolant hose after work today, see if that fixes my leak. If not, thermostat it is.

Potential $2 versus a $60+ fix is always nice.
